Pony Tail
What Length can you start to tie your hair from the nape of your neck,
And also when the hair from the your fore head is long enough to put in to your pony tail how much needs to go into the tie to do this??
My hair is straight & meduim thickness
Cheers Graeme
Well, Graeme, the obvious answer is whenever you can pull all your hair back into a pony tail, it's long enough by definition to be a pony tail. But the truth is, wait at least until it has enough length to hang down a bit. I've been in restaurants where the waiter had hair just long enough to pull back into a tie, but it stuck out in back like a paint brush left to dry at a bad angle. And if tying it back pulls the skin of your face so tight that you look like Joan Crawford on her eighth face lift, I suppose it's best to wait for another couple of months.
Having straight hair, however, you can probably tie it back sooner than some of us. I have curly hair, and I had to grow it down to my shoulder blades before I could tie it back without it curling up into a pompom that made me look like a poodle begging for sugar.
Patience. We have all the time in the world.

Hell, I think I had a pompom for 2 years! I've been thru the grow-out phase three times in my life. I've used gel, hairspray, even bobby pins. Sooner or later, you'll get there. Don't give up...And if you
are ever tempted to give in and cut off a nice ponytail, just remember the damn grow-out phase!
