I have curly hair.I have Been trying to grow it long for about 4 months. Whats steps do i need to take now to get my hair growing right? Is thier a way i need to get it cut?The top of my hair reaches about to the bottom of my ears but it curls up.Any suggestions?
I am going through the same situation. I am in month number three however. What I am trying right now is hair spray and the blow dryer... At this point, it's working well for me, but I'm still "tucking" the hair under my hair like straight hair.
However, I'm gonna try out the One-2-One Gel in the next few days, and see if that helps. It really didn't help me much on the back of my head, as my hair will curl no matter what...
Hair spray helps, but it is not healthy. I would recommend maybe a straightening iron for the time being. hope this advice helps.
If anyone has any other info, please let me know! I'm somewhat in the same predicament.
It's amazing how much easier it is with straight hair. I'm in month three too, and I'm not having any problems. The only part of my hair that's curly is the very back, just big waves I think, although I think most people have that. All I can say though is I'm glad I have straight hair!

Hey that's a good way of looking at it jb! Happy growing!
As well, I say, "Celebrate the hair you have!" Some people may grow it longer, some people may have it straighter, curlier, oilier, dryer, or whatever you might prefer. But you aren't going to have it that way without incurring some damage, if you can do it at all. Hair comes in many flavors of waviness, curliness, color, length, oiliness, thickness, and areas on the scalp where it grows. Longhairs value individuality, and this diversity is part of what makes longhairs an awesome lot!
No matter what mane a longhair has, it sure beats the bland, rubber-stamp looks of the maneless. I accept my mane as it is, as a wonderful gift of my Creator, and I enjoy it as something that He chose to be uniquely "me"!
you too!
