I am at 18 months. Its glorious. Almost at pony tail length. Bangs just now tucking behind ears. All the gell and hair spray the last couple months have been worth it.
Hi, what a milestone and achievement it is to be able to tie a full ponytail. In the last few months i have now got enough length to get bangs and all inside the ponytail. At first, i used to dislike this style but now i am wearing it almost everyday just to make my hair more bearable and out of the way.
My hair is just not long enough to sit behind my shoulders so it keeps coming in my face and falling from the ears when i tuck it, hence the ponytail.
18 months is adequate growing time for a ponytail, i even some fast growers tieing one at 12 months.
Here is my ponytail history :
- Around 13-14 months i was just able to tie a ponytail, the bangs never sat in but i used a copious amount of gel and hairspray product to keep it in place all day. I had to put it higher on the skull and it was rather small.
-Now , around 17 months growth, i can tie a full ponytail and don't need the help of any products, gels or sprays to keep the bangs down, they are acutally long anough to fit inside the tail. I also learnt how to tie a ponytail properly because before this my mum would have to tie it for me all the time.
Since i have thick/curly hair i usually just chuck a loose band over my hair, without double or triple tying it. This makes it easier to remove and is less straining on my hair, i even sleep in a loose band ponytail.
Here is some ponytail tying tips.
- wet hair and comb back with a wide tooth comb.
- instead of apply loads of gel and products to your hair buy some natural condition(silicone free) and use this the same way you would use gel. It keeps flyways intact, keeps your hair slicked back looking and neat and is beneficial to yor hair and won't dry it out like gel and stuff. Since i started using this my hair has been looking very nice.
Great news! Glad you stuck it out and are starting to see the hard-earned results. Only 6 more months will see a dramatic change (for the better). I am happy for you that you are well on your way to really nice long hair.
Thanks for the response guys. I have started wearing a half tail at home. I love the way it looks. I cant wait for the first time I go out in public with a full pony tail.
