I will usually be wearing these glasses outside in the summer months:

And a straight-on view with the hair brushed further to the side:
I recently got my hair trimmed, with noticable length removed from the back and sides, and very little from the front. As a result, some of it is back to where it was during my last update (1 year in January), but it is much easier to detangle and the ends were really starting to bother me. Now it is roughly as long as it was 3 months ago, but not as damaged anymore. With the ends evened up better and freshly trimmed, I plan to grow out without further trims for another 6 months at least, to reach my goal length.
A pic of me 3 months ago:
And right before my trim:
Wow, your hair is realy shiny, dead straight and in very good condition. I can't say as it is your hair and you are the one living with it but it didn't appear like you had split ends or tangles. I am starting to get a little irritated with tangling and split-end problem and i am considering a trim soon.
I like the chin length fringe look. It looks somewhat awkward and impairing your visibility but if it doesn't bother you then stick with it. Your hair is going to look awesome at shoulder length. Keep growing it.
I have almost the same hair and the "chin length fringe look" is a natural look, it's not like a hairstyle. It will just get longer and won't get in the view. :)
Great hair btw.
- The picture before the trim is a little deceiving because I had washed and brushed and combed my hair more than usual in preparation for the photos taken then. Unfortunately at one of my jobs I work outside in the elements and wear a hat so the ends of my hair take a beating and literally cannot be combed until I thoroughly wash it. Even then, it would only separate easily until the last couple inches of my hair, especially in back. I'd have to start at the ends and comb them out, then brush out the rest of my hair like usual. But in doing so, I'd get snags and create a lot of unnecessary breakage in the process. This happened the last time I grew my hair out long, but once I got it into a ponytail the ends didn't matter as much anymore. This time I don't plan on wearing my hair in a ponytail at all, so I can't just ignore the problem as it gets longer.
In 6 months it will have been 21 months since I started, so a 3 month setback to restore the hair's condition is not a significant speed-bump in my opinion. Since my goal length is approx. 2 years with no trims, and I will be getting regular 3 month trims from then on, this was really just to let the short hairs catch up to the rest so the growing process looks and feels better along the way. I admit I was in a hurry to reach chin length and wouldn't trim at all due to every centimeter being precious, but once there, I had ample room to create a style, and now there's no rush to complete the growing stage.
It certainly feels strange having my hair sit one way for the duration of both my previous and now this growing cycle, and then once it is long, having it hang differently all of a sudden. As it was said, now that my hair is long, there are more options open to how I style it, so it's as easy as parting it differently if the new style isn't working out for me one day, but I feel like wearing it the next. As I type this, for example, I haven't changed it since waking up, and it wants to part itself more toward the middle again. Before I go outside, I'll just decide which one suits me better today, and go with that one. I might even try parting the opposite side, or a new one entirely. I posted this one because it's the first attempt at creating any style other than the one I've always assumed when growing my hair long.
My goal length by the way, is having my bangs a couple inches above my collar bone and the back slightly longer and possibly tapered in back. It might take another year in which case I would consider a minor trim after 6 months, depending on my progress.
Your hair looks GREAT Jeremy, it will look awesome as it gets longer. Keep us posted, please!
All is looking fantastic! The "Aysometric-look" is especially pleasing and looks great on you. And it keeps getting better and better with time. Thanks for sharing the photos with us.
Hi Jeremy,
your hair looks cool, and, what's more, you are getting more and more options how to wear it as it gains length. I'm glad the trim went well for you.
Keep growing it - to terminal length if you like!

Looking good, Jeremy! You seem to be the rare person for whom the awkward stage isn't an issue. Congrats!

That looks pretty awesome, to me. Your hair is still short enough that you can still style it, and yet it's almost down to your chin. Pretty cool, keep growing it out!
