okay, so yesterday i was in the lunch line at my high school. when i get to the second lunchlady she says to me, "repeat after me,..razor". i looked at her like she was a complete dumbass, so i think she got the message.
what is really funny is the fact that my facial hair is extremely short. its just a stubble beard. i trim it every few days to keep it like this.
this really got me thinking. why would someone feel the need to make a comment like this? personally, i would feel really stupid if i did something like that. all my friends had a good laugh out of it. she is known as the "crazy lunch lady" at my school now =P
"repeat after me... diet," or something like that heheh, that would have shut her up
Actually, he could have just said the same thing she did (repeat after me... razor). :P
"Crazy lunchlady" ha! made me laugh.
People like her don't have to make these comments. But their simplistic stereotypical perception has a hard time dealing with unregular things.
They feel like they need to correct behavior of surroundings.
They lack character, and don't know what life is about at all.
Gladdly we can laugh about these people from time to time.
That commment was mean, rude and uncalled for......in industry, it would be cause for a Diversity Issue. Do not dignify it with a reaction or stoop to her level.
Mention the comment to a teacher you trust. Just because you are young, a student and a bit furry, you do not deserve to be insulted. (Yipes ! This has upset me...)

If anyone said that to me I'd say:
Repeat after me... anti-wrinkle cream
or complete facial makeover/reconstruction.
What a crackhead...seriously, that is so uncalled for...it's like asking a girl why she has breasts.
Some people can be hilarious without meaning to be, or maybe that was her idea of a top wisecrack, who knows? Who expects fashion tips from the lunchlady, lol. I would have loved to see her face when you glared back at her :) Can't blame your friends for laughing cause it is so unexpected and funny. I guess it depends on your mood at the time, I guess if you were having a bad day that would NOT be what you'd want to hear :)
oh come on. just laugh, smile at her, and say 'no thanks'. I don't think she tried to offend you intentionally.
"repeat after me... intensive psychiatric evaluation"
Point at her, "Repeat after me...Dinner lady." Then point to yourself. "Educated."
Be careful offending the lunch lady. She could poison you!
You could turn this idea around, though, and tell her you're almost certain that the hair growth is caused by something the school is putting in your food! [grin]
Bill
repeat after me...real food. If your cafeteria is anything like mine...
