that's the precise mug shot i recall hitting the papers during the media's full frontal assault on the man's career. it's curious how the one incident effectively kay-oed paul reubens' career while people like robert downey jr., darryl strawberry, mike tyson, and others seem to get chance after chance...
Aww, come on! His show, "Pee Wee's Playhouse" was cancelled quite a while before the movie theater incident. His 15 minutes were long since up.
i'm afraid i must differ with you on this one. granted, it was quite a while ago and my recollections may not be the best, but i DO remember (CBS?) cancelling peewee's playhouse from saturday morning immediately AFTER the news hit the papers.... (perhaps he wasn't making any more episodes, but it WAS alive in syndication!) and the peewee doll being pulled from store shelves. these things all made the news! the local radio station's morning show had a field day for weeks with the incident... his career may well have peaked, but he was still high-profile enough for it to be a big story.
