I'm looking for a styling product to keep my ponytail hairstyle kempt. But I don't quite the wet look and hard feel with most gels I've tried. I'm currently using Gatsby Megahold wax. It doesn't exactly do that great of a job in keeping my hair in tact though it isn't wet. Any recommendations? Thanks.
I have recently stopped using any gels or hairspray products on my hair when i slick it back for a ponytail. It dries the hair severly and my hair is very fragile and 'different' to everyones so i have to be careful with it. These days i only use water or apply a small amount of natural conditioner , the same way you would apply gel. The conditioner makes combing the hair effortless and it also serves as a beneficial leave-in conditioner, as well as keeping down flyaways and providing the aesthetic look of neat, slicked back hair. My hair has been better since doing this.
i've started to use brylcreem recently when i make a ponytail, it holds the hair in place and adds a lot of shine too.
What sort of leave in conditioner do you use, 80's? I've been using a rinse out conditioner that really doesn't do anything for my hair that my current shampoo doesn't, so I've been considering switching for a while.
Well it isn't actually a "leave-in", it's a natural, cone free conditioner, but i use it for the purpose of leaving it in the hair because it is harmless and won't cause any buildup. I am just using a cheap generic brand, it should say something like "natural" or "organic" on the packaging. Make sure to read the list of ingredients though. If it has 'cones in it, then it isn't natural.
