Hello !
I am french and i'm not really a newbie in longhair because i was (quite) longhaired several months ago. But i was longhaired because i never like someone touch my hair (but that's okay for me, lol). My hair was long below my shoulder's level. I cut it (my hair, not the shoulders...) in July '05 and today it is bizarre because it is no longer the same (approx.) forms on the left and on the right of my head (I don't know how translate this from french, but i explain this about the part of my hair which is on the top of the face...)
So, the question comes : What should i do to make my hair the same each side?
(the photo isn't representative of what i tried to explain but i'll try to shot again tomorow)
Thanks for all !
Salut, et bienvenu!
Your hair looks quite good, for about 10 months of growth, and the "awkward stage" should be over in another six to eight months. The most important thing is patience. (I know, this is difficult for re-growers.)
Hair never grows 100% symmetrically on both sides. Some difference in length and hair structure is normal. One possible cause is that people tend to sleep always on the same side. I wouldn't attach too much importance to it. Rather, simply let it grow. Your hair will probably even out (égaliser) as you gain length.
If there's something you feel you can't express in English, by all means, dis-ça en français. Someone will understand and translate it for you.
wishing you Peace and Happy Growth

Bonjour,

Hi Fellow, welcome. On most people, hair is not even. It will be thicker or grow faster on certain parts of your head, and be thinner and grow slower on other parts.
My hair is an excellent example of this, take a good close look at my hair shown loose. It is about 5 centimeters longer on the right side.
When I tie it into my usual 1 meter long ponytail, you would never know it was uneven at all.

Buon giorno!
Sono Dean e ho abito a Sydney. Sono studente al'Uiversita di Sydney.
The picture looks great!
Personally, I always liked the look where most of hair was in a ponytail and yet the bangs were purposely left out.
My hair is getting a bit too long for that now though.
I can say however that my left side of hair is about an inch longer than my right side. Luckily though, the longer my hair gets the less I notice this difference.
(By the way, I adressed you in Italian above, because I did 2 years of French in High Scool and I was far from Tre Bien. Yet I'm doing Italian now at University, so I'll take any chance I get to express myself in one of the romance languages)
Arriverdeci!
Au Revoir!
Good morning!
Your hair looks very good now as it is from the picture you posted. I think that when it gets longer again, you will not notice so much of a difference. The hair you have lately grown might have a different wave or lay to it than the hair you cut.
It is rather common among most everyone that their hair is not absolutely symmetrical on both sides of the head. I would just let it grow for a few more months and see what happens.
Good luck,
bragi (who studied French for two years and can't remember anything but "l'avion a reaction")
