Now I know you're gonna think I'm stupid, having had hair growing for the last five years, but I still haven't fully understood the concept of leave-in conditioner.
Is it something you use after a shower, instead of regular conditioner? Do you use it on a non-hairwash day with your hair just dry? Do you wet it first?
I've been using it with my hair dry (cause it says on the bottle I can do that), but it doesn't seem to help all that much on tangles, and it makes my hair look greasy...
Tell me what I'm doing wrong.
I'm using garnier fructis leave-in conditioner like this:
First I wash my hair in the normal way, and I don't dry it.
I take approx. the same amount of conditioner as I did of the shampoo, and I spread it around my hair, until all of it feels smooth.
Then I put my head under the shower and just move the hair back and forward with my hands, taking care not to wash out all the conditioner.
After that, I somewhat dry my hair with the towel and gently run through it with a fine-toothed comb to untangle it.
After I comb it, I leave it to air-dry.
Hope I helped...
Erik
I don't really understand what the difference between a conditioner and leave in conditioner is in this case. If I'm going to wash my hair anyway, why not just use a regular conditioner?
you can let a leave-in stay in your hair all day and it is supposed to make the hair more manageable. you couldn't do this with a regular conditioner that has cones in it, because that isn't good for hair. of course 80s uses a natural conditioner without cones as a leave in. hope this helped
I use Infusium 23.Been useing it for about six months.I only use it after washing. When I use it my hair is noticably easier to brush than when I don't.With regular conditioner it makes a difference but not as much.I have used both together but don't see any advantage. If your hair tends to be oily you may not need as much.I only use the leave in on the lower half of my hair. You just need to expieriment to see what works for you.Looking at your update pics, your hair doesn't look greasy.

That's because I generally just don't use the leave-in, cause I just use the regular stuff. Heh
I have great results using Neutrogenia Triple Moisture Healing Shine Serum (available at CVS). It (along with daily brushing) have really helped eliminate a lot of the tangling I was experiencing.

Hardly.
I went that route once.........and once was enough of the bought "leave-in Conditioner." But using regular Conditioner in my hair when washing, and not washing out 100% DOES make a differance in my case. Without doing this my hair looses all body to it so to speak, and right when I discovered doing this I also discovered a drastic loss of shed hair which I would have had if I had washed it all out. I do not know why. All I know is what works for me.
??????????? I'll have to leave that to some other expert on this show. :-)
I have no experience with Leave-In conditioners because i have never really used them, but i have used oils after my hair has dried from the shower. All i can say is try using oils instead, just like im doing...im pretty happy with the results, it makes my hair extremely soft and silky and i love it.

I use both conditionners : leave-in or regular. Actually when I use regular one, I don't rinse and it's ok for my hair. I often use Pantene pro-v, Dove, Schwarzkopf or l'Oreal.
