My hair is really confusing me. Before it used to be really oily and after washing it would STILL be really oily, then someone told me to double shampoo and I did so. Now it seems really dry and it stays that way for 2 days, i go to sleep with it that way, on the third day when i wake up it already seems to be getting too oily. I know it's too oily because on the third day people say I have bad hair hygeine. Theres never a day when it is in between dry and oily, it's just either. Can anybody tell me what's going on?
Stop shampooing so often. Most people only do it once or twice a week. Even if you have oily hair it is still unnessecary to over do it. The secret is to spread those oils from the roots to the ends of the hair, this is where moistured is most needed.
This can be done by combing the hair and using cool/warm water to allow it to spread. IMO, i would rather have oily, greasy hair than hair that is too dry and dead looking. Unfortunately, i have the latter hair type which means i need the help of conditioning and oil treatments. oily hair = healthy hair.
It is just when too much oil is building up that there is a problem. Dandruff and smelly hair is a by-product of this.
Finding a balance of shampooing is most important.
hehehe when you say smelly hair, it smells a bit like eggs doesn't it?
I guess so, My hair smells like that by the end of 3rd or 4th day without washing. It is a mixture smell produced by the gel, oil and sweat collected in my hair. :-S
Cheers!
