Hi guys, I have successfully reached my 9 month mark. My hair is comparitively longer then the last time i posted pics. When I strecth, it touches my lower lip. But looks really short since it is curly. I guess in about another 6,7 months I can start putting a pony tail. :)
This was how I looked with short hair (Me and me mum)

Sorry about the shaky pictures. Its my pal's cam and it is a oooolld 2MP cam.
So far, I dont really care about the awkward stage, I am washing my hair twice a week with shampoo and conditioner. I apply oil and some anti frizz cream when the hair is wet and comb with a wide tooth comb. Then i sit in front of a fan and let my hair air dry. This way it dries quick and stays soft. I dont really like wearing hats and beanies. So i just let my hair out however messy it is. So far nobody has made any remarks, except some of my friends who are really excited about my new look. My mum was cringing a while back, but now she is much better and to my surprises gives me tips and all. :D
Last week, according to my mum's advice, i applied egg (the white part and not the yellow part as it prodces bad odour) and let it sit for 1 1/2 hrs. Then washed my hair with shampoo and conditioner. She says it is good hair as eggs have lot of proteins. I dont know how good it is. But my hair feels a little better. I dont know if this actually works on everybody. But just wanted to let you guys know.
Sorry about the long post. Comments welcome.
Cheers!
Kumar

Hi, your hair is looking considerably longer and those little curls are starting to form. Your hair appears to be very healthy which is a good sign that you are taking care of your hair and avoiding neglect. Your parents are cute, such a happy family. Many Indian females i see where i live, all have waist length hair, or longer. It is very thick and they braid it like a rope, looks very nice. So many females these days want to color, straighten, perm, dye, blah blah their hair and that's why they have shoulder length hair that is dry and damaged. All the females i see with waist length or longer hair, they all have very healthy, natural hair, without all that corporate stuff in their hair.
Is your friend considering growing his hair out aswell?
Do you have any long haired friends?
Great progress man and take care.
Thanks man, time has passed really fast and i cant beleive i have already passed 9 months. Without you guys, i wouldnt have came this far.

True, everybody wants something they dont have and try to get it that way, damaging their hair through the process. :(
That guy in the lst pic has medium length hair as well. He is not planning on growing long hair. But he likes the length he has. I have another buddy, who has some nice hair. He actually had shiulder length hair a couple of years ago, but he cut it all off. Now he has nose length hair and he wants it cut coz it is too hard to maintain. I can see his point. :) But i am not planning on cutting.
Cheers!

Looks good man. You're lucky to have parents that are semi-supportive.
Thanks a lot.
Hi Kumar:
Your hair is looking great, and congrats on having a mother who has warmed to your long hair. That's more than many of us can ever hope for!
Best wishes,
Jeremy
THanks man, My mum has short hair herself, probably thats why she likes me gorwing my hair out. hehehehehe.
you have some very nice, healthy hair. i love the dark color too. keep it growing.
Thanks man, Your hair looks a lot like mine. I just hope mine is as healthy as urs.
Looking great Kumar - wonderful dark color you have.

Thank you.
And it is looking super for 9 months! :-) Of the "Awkward stage," most don't care for it either, so you are far from being alone on that one. Good luck to you in growing-out your hair further. It's going to be fabulous!
THanks a lot. You are very kind. I cant wait until it gets longer.
Nice progress dude! Keep up the good work!!
Thanks a lot mate.
Sweet, dude. I think shoulder-length hair, and perhaps beyond, will really suit you pretty well. You're still in the awkward stage, but you're getting through.
I especially like the pic of you and your parents sitting in Nature. Wow. Sorry if you already said it, but where exactly are you guys?
Your mom's dress is pretty and compliments the natural look of the picture. Awesome stuff, 'nuff said.
Keep up the growing!
Thanks man, I am really happy i came through this far. Cant wait until it hits the shoulder.
but where exactly are you guys?
That picture was taken in Koorg, a hill resort in south India. This was last summer when I went to India for my summer vacation and my hair was growing out of a buzz cut.
Thanks for the compliment. She does like bold colours. If you havent noticed, she has short hair. She used to have mid back length hair until 2 years ago, when she suddenly went short. She still likes it that way. She was not very happy when i sent my pics last month. But i did a video conf couple of days back and she likes my hair now.
Cheers!
Those waves are gonna look AWESOME when it gets longer - don't keep it tied up all the time whatever you do!
I've used egg as a conditioning treatment as well - it works! I used the whole egg, yolk included. Perhaps in a hot climate this would result in omelette-head but not here in the UK, lol. As long as you rinse it out properly there shouldn't be an odour problem. Only use a tiny amount of shampoo and lots of water so you don't strip away all the benefit of the egg treatment. I suppose it's just another way of applying a form of protein.
Thanks a lot.

LOL, thats a cheerful way of putting it. Yes, I will try putting the yellow part as well when I do it next week. Thanks for the advice, I have been using lot of shampoo to get the egg thing out of my hair. I would not do that again.
your curls and waves are really beautiful. Your hair looks long now butI would like to see your hair wet to see how really long it is.
Thanks for your comments. I doesnt look too long when it is wet. It curls up even more and I almost look like a short hair. tee hee.
Cheers!
Thanks a lot.
