Hello,
I am wondering what the general length your hair has to be before you can fit most of it into a decent pony tail?
My hair is between 6 to 7 inches long right now and I can't wait until I can get it to ponytail length. As the picture shows my hair is a bit wavy, so I will probably have to grow it a little longer than the average ponytail length to get it into a decent ponytail. The attached picture is about a month old.
Thanks.
I began to try a ponytail at 10 inches : it was really a minimum because at 9 inches, much hair falled out of my "attached system". Now my hair reach 14 inches and it's quite easy to put it in ponytail.
How do you guys measure hair length? with a ruler? :-S
Cheers!
Hi kholdstayr, welcome. For most people, the distance from the front hairline to the base of the head is about 13 inches. For your hair to stay in a secure, low ponytail, you need about 14 inches of length. You can do a higher ponytail with about 12 inches of length.
Absalom
In your case (and this just an educated guess mind you), I'd say another 10 months or so.
Hang in there and let us know how it goes.
Praise the ponytail!
I don't typically judge ponytail length based on inches, but your hair should be growing at least two inches beyond your neck for it to stay. Looking at my hair, I'd say the bangs should also be down to the chin, maybe a little beyond at minimum
