Hey guys,
In two nights, my university is holding a dinner & dance for all self-catered students.
The theme is prom.
I'll be wearing a dinner suit and I need some ideas on how to style my hair. Pictures would be appreciated, so if I needed to get someone else to style it, they could have a visual reference.
Thanks :)
Hi Milney,
At your current length, I'd just wear it open and over or slightly behind my ears - but that's only my taste. If you want to be courageous, you could experiment with half-tails, (partial) braids, and what not. Whatever makes you feel good will harmonize with your personality AND your suit. By the way, IF you like earrings - a pair of gold-colored rings would go extremely well with your hair AND your suit...
Have fun,
Hans-Uwe
Whilst it may not be 'different' for a special occasion - having it as it is looks brilliant - down and slightly behind the ears is a finbe style for a formal occasion.
By the way - you look hundreds of times better with the long hair than short.
I think your hair is just fine. I don't see a change is in order. have fun.
However, maybe just a slight wavy perm. It will grow out quickly and then you could continue to grow it to whatevr length.
I agree your hair is fine and suits you well. If you did want to try your hair more wavy or with more body, a perm seems too drastic just for the prom. But you could try something temporary like setting your hair with velcro rollers. I've heard some male models with long hair have been known to do that.
Pretty dull theme from a male point of view IMO! However, I think the aim should be to look as dressed up as possible - again for a "prom" theme that pretty much means the nice suit clotheswise. I would definitely vote for wearing your hair down at the length it is now. If you had much longer hair I would probably say go for a braid, or a half pony braided, with a well tied black silk bow but I think wearing a pony at this length would spoil the look and make you look more conventional in your suit. Better to make you hair as much of a feature as possible and stand out from the crowd as much as you can when the clothes are going to be somewhat similar for the men. Ultimately, of course, it needs to be what you feel most comfortable with so try out a few ideas in front of the mirror and see which boosts your confidence the most. Have a great time!
You have taste lady :)
I can't wait till my hair is atleast 20 inches, then i can braid my looong hair and wear a pretty little bow at the end. That would be killer.
Indeed.
lol, I can't wait either. I just tried braiding my hair again and discovered the problem, and why most people tie up the end of a braid - my ends were too thin to hold the rest of the braid, and they messed it up. Your hair's gotta be thick enough for the braid to work.
And at 20 inches, my hair might actually touch my shoulders. :P
