So wow, only just found this place. I'm the only 16 year old guy I know with long hair, so it's nice to find other people who appreciate hair with more than 5 inches to it!
Been growing it for about 3 years, but had a load taken off, by orders of the school :| This is it just about recovered now.
So yeah, that's me :)
Peace, Kai

wow - started growing your hair out with about 13 years - that's great ...
wow a really great length for 3 yrs with several "chops" ... the texure of your hair looks quite smooth/soft but with enough volume to look really good - great hair type which u got !
keep growing,
ALH
Hi Kai,
you look great with long hair - grow it all the way down to your butt :-) or as long as you like! With a bit of luck, there should be no more "school order"-type attacks on your hair any more. Hope your parents continue to be supportive (mine were not. At age 16, I only was able to proceed from buzz-cut to slightly longish - but that's the past).
Wishing you happy growth, and academic success as well,
Hans-Uwe
Thanks for the warm reception guys, I leave school this week so no more administration hassling me for the hair :)
Gotta say though, I'm considering cutting it, I keep on getting confused for a girl, and it's annoying me. Any tips on how to look a little more masculine with long hair?
Peace, Kai
Hello Kai,
Please, don't even consider cutting it only because some people confuse you for a girl! This "confusion" could even be a method to manipulate you into going back to short hair. If some moron makes that mistake, just smile it off, or say something like "Sorry dude, can't help you on that one". - By all means, go for the hair style that makes you feel good about yourself.
Seriously, as you gain more length, and as soon as you can tie your hair into a good pony tail, fewer and fewer people will mistake you for a girl! (I admit, looking older as time goes by will help you as well... If you can grow a beard, or moustache, or side burns already, by all means go for it.)
One more things: Simply growing hair out in a no-nonsense way looks more masculine to me than getting one trim after the other - as 80s quoted me correctly, trims usually amount to setbacks.
Just make sure your clothes look masculine (they probably do - even regular no-frills jeans and plain t-shirts should do the trick, or e.g. plain-colored button-down shirts if you want to look a bit more formal.)
Grow that mane, man, grow it, it'll be great!
Wishing you happy growth and hair peace,
Hans-Uwe
Hey, thanks man, think I just need reminding sometimes about keeping the hair going. Not that I'm ashamed of the hair or anything, but I've got a pretty effeminate face, a high-ish voice and can't grow facial hair to save my life! So yunno, it tends to make me seem like a chick at times. But yunno, good things come to those who wait and all, so just gotta stick with it I guess.
Thanks again dude, Peace, Kai
Hi Kai,
just one more thing:
I haven't seen your photoghaph, but I'm certain your face is not "effeminate", but very friendly, open, and accessible, the face of a (very?) young and good guy. I haven't heard your voice, but I'm certain that it is not high-ish, but a resonant tenor voice with lots of volume and a great capacity for modulation (it's called counter-tenor if it's really high). I'm sure girls melt away when they get to know you!
Your body is great as it is, and you have all the right in the world to feel good about it, and especially to grow your hair to your butts - "feminine" or not, and it's so good that you understand that.
Peace and happy growth forever,
Hans-Uwe
