Hi,
My hair is currently just past my shoulders, and its been great for ages, but recently - in the past week - I've been having problems with it. The hair on the top and back of my head is great - it is smooth and shiny. The tips of my hair at the back of my head aren't so great though. They feel kind of waxy and almost clumped together. If I comb them they feel soft again, but a few hours later they are waxy again. The ends of my hair are still quite layered, because I had a fairly layered cut the last time my hair was cut.
For the past few months I've been using the following hair care routine.
* Wash my hair about 5 times a week
* Always wash with Pantene Pro V Smooth and Sleek shampoo
* Normally condition with Smooth & Sleek 2-minute Intensive Smoothing Conditioner
* Once a week, instead of the conditioner, I use Smooth & Sleek intensive Anti-Frizz Treatment
* After a shower, I towel dry my hair, and then comb or brush it and let it dry. At home I leave it loose as it dries. When I'm at the gym I tie it into a ponytail or a half pony for the journey home.
My first thought was that I had changed something in my routine, but I've been using the same stuff for months without trouble. Then I thought maybe I'm over conditioning my hair, or I'm leaving the conditioner in for too long before rinising it out, but its only the tips of my hair that has this problem. The only other thing I can think of is the weather - in Belfast the weather is just starting to get hot, but we have also had a lot of humidity and heavy rain for the past week or so.
Anyone got any ideas?
Hi Andrew,
I'd try to use shampoo not more often than two times a week. That way, the lower ends of your hair would be dried out less frequently. Also, I'd apply some anti-frizz gel to the lower parts of your hair more often. Chances are that this change will lead to improvement.
Best wishes, and happy growth!
Hans-Uwe
Most likly your hair is coverd in build up from the shampoo. You could buy a clarifying shampoo to remove the buildup.
hey there
One of my friend's was a hairdresser and she told me that panthene is really bad for your hair. she said that it doesn't take the dirt out of it, but adds extra layers of product. So maybe you should get a better shampoo...maybe something from the hairdressers, or garnier is what i use for instance. And always use conditioner after you have washed your hair :)
