Hi, I'm nearly 19 and I've been growing my hair for two years or so. My parents hates it and we were arguing almost every day, but recently it seems that they have settled with it. Only sometimes my mother does complain about hair on the floor and she laughs at me that I'm going bald. The problem is that it seems to be true... carpet in my room is always covered with fallen hair even though I vacuum-clean it every week and so on. I've also found someting like a bald spot on top of my head. I'm really tired of all of this and don't know what to do.
Don't worry too much.
It is natural to lose 100 hairs a day (and when you times that by 7!...).
Also from the picture you have posted here, that just seems to me to be the natural shape of your crown.
When your hair was shorter, you probably had more volume on top which hid your natural crown. As your hair gets longer, gravity starts to pull your hair down, thus revealing your crown-not causing baldness (at least not as far as I can tell from this picture).
You really don't have to do anything...........you're fine! :-)
Spot on back of head is normal. Some people have it more pronounced than others. Nothing to worry about in the slighest as is finding all that hair on the floor. (Average person looses around 100 hairs per day.) You may very well notice that as your hair grows longer that there will be less and less loss of hair, this due to weight and scalp being able to withold this weight. I find so little myself now that it is amazing compared to when I was at your present stage.
Perhaps best and luckiest of all is your parents acceptance of long hair. Whew! So many guys don't have it that easy.
The opposite is actually true. His parents aren't supportive as they "fight and argue everyday" about his hair, and his mum jokes abut him "going bald". Not very supportive me thinks.
You're right 80's! I must have read it too fast around 6AM and came to my conclusion incorrectly. Whew. Thank goodness you're on the Board! :-)
It doesn't look like you're going bald at all to me. A lot of people have a somewhat pronounced crown like that, including me.
Very few men start going bald as early as 19; how many people under 20 do you see with MPB? It's >possible< to go bald that early, but very unlikely.
Hi Surma,
you look fine, with NO TRACE of balding! Keep it growing, and I'm glad for you that your parents finally have acquiesced. Hair on the carpet isn't a real problem either - it's normal whenever there are (nearly) accomplished longhairs in a household. Just continue to help your mother with the vacuuming from time to time ;-)
Keep it growing and flowing,
Hans-Uwe
Thanks for all your answers...
I have to do it all myself :-)
hi,
this "bald" spot is not the begin of balding - it's normal - u r not balding !
to the fallen out hairs in your room - you only can see your fallen out hairs now because they are longer !!
u lose as much hairs as with short hair with the only difference that short hairs can't be seen as good as u see the long hairs !
a hair loss from 50-100 hairs per day is normal btw ...
greez,
ALH
Theres no way in the slightest as i can see you are NOT going bald you got a great scalp of hair !
Actually my Parents hate my hair long to but its my hair and i choose to have it long they still complain now and I havent lived with them for quite awhile !
You keep your hair how you want it if they dont like thats to bad !
