It's funny how at the bottom of the article it says "People who wear other's style of dress and live in other's style will become fools and that nation will come to ruin." Doesn't that basically describe themselves if they're forcing "other" (theirs) style on their citizens?
"It stressed the "negative effects" of long hair on "human intelligence development", noting that long hair "consumes a great deal of nutrition" and could thus rob the brain of energy."
LMAO
Men should get a haircut every 15 days, it recommended
Ummm... haircuts DO cost money ya know! So every 15 days would take a lot of your money away anyway..
That is the craziest thing i have ever read in my life! it's so stupid.... Is there anyone from Korea on these boards?
My Website
Hi Salidbar,
Don't expect anyone from North Korea to comment on this - except to praise their "wise" and "enlightened" leaders - if they have internet access at all.
Even Saddam's Iraq (an evil dictatorship for which I'd never shed any tears) was more open than North Korea, and North Korea probably does have weapons of mass destruction. WMD and outrageous hair regulations might well be expressions of the same dictatorial spirit...
Cherish freedom - everybody, everywhere...

I can tell you one thing, whatever excuse they make up for shorter hair, it all comes down to control. The reason back in the old days especially warriors had long hair because the hair symbolizes freedom. In Taiwan about 2 years ago the newspaper ran an article on hair. It described how school children are forced to have certain haircut and it went into detail about why the ancient chinese always had long hair. Basically the article said the reason school administrators force hairstyle is because of control. Of course soon after that article was printed schools are banned from regulating haircuts.
So yea, the only reason companies and governments have hairstyle restriction is because they want to be bosses, and you will notice those companies and governments tends to be of authoritian nature.
Tai: I think that probably applies to most countries, here to have certain jobs you have to 'look the part', i.e. have short hair. How this can have an effect on your performance or how good a person you might be is crazy.
"People who wear other's style of dress and live in other's style will become fools and that nation will come to ruin"
I have no clue what they really mean by this, but...i think the entire population should do these very things so that the nation will literally come to "ruin". Evil nation!
oh i'm so glad that i didn live in such countries - some people are simply stupid with no hope for help ...
i have found an article about 2 true longhairs:
Suicide bid for forced haircut
i think i have the same attitude about my hair but with the difference that i would not kill myself - i would kill the one who had done this to me ...
I wonder what that @$$ hole teacher thought to herself after those two children attempted to commit suicide because of her.
I would seriously feel terrible if i had been the cause for something like that.
The teacher probably thought "What losers. They should have gone and killed themselves properly." Or something like that. Asian cultures aren't very sympathetic to failure (this is a big generalization, I know) and if the teacher punished them for not cutting hair, I imagine s/he is missing the "compassion" part of his/her brain.
