My hair is 6 inches now, and I was wondering if anyone had some good ideas on how to wear for nice occasions.
Here's a pic of the hair to show you what I mean:

I think you got at least two options: You could gel all your hair back into an (incomplete?) ponytail, or, you could just airdry it and have curls all over.
Of course, your options will increase as you gain length, and it's cool hair already now.

You're hair looks GREAT buddy. It looks like it has some curl to it. I find, when I need to look neat, I get the best results combing and styling my hair when it's wet and then putting some hair spray on it. You'll keep the "wet" look for the occasion, but it will look neat and presentable.
I would just leave it the way it is.
hmmm, can't do much in the way of styling for such short length. With longer hair you can tie half-tails,ponytails, and even braids with a ribbon tied at the end :)
Maybe a side part would work for you. BTW, those wavy curls would look really nice at mid back length.
Go as you are my friend! Nothing unkept looking about your hair, you could be in a wedding and not change a thing. Now when you get to my length, I usually ponytail it and would recommend it for others in very formal settings. In a tail maybe triple tied the wind and such can't play havok on you like they can with it let down. I went to a wedding as a groomsman and did leave it down and as we posed for the groomsman pictures a gust came along and my face was hidden from view in their wedding album forever! I look WILD! Grow and Flow!
