I've been growing my hair out from a short cut since September 2003.
I'm just above nipple-length, and it seems the longer my hair grows, the wavier it gets. This surprised me at first, but there are times when my hair gets really curly, and I'm finding myself liking it more and more. My hair grows slower wavy than if it was perfectly straight, but I really like the volume the wavy hair gives me.
I've been trying the condition-only regiment, using shampoo only once or twice a week, and I really do like how much easier it is to manage my hair now. When I was shampooing every day, I'd spend at least 5-10 minutes having to finger-comb in order to get rid of the tangles. Now, a couple minutes max is all it takes.
At this point, I really feel that one journey has ended for me and another has begun. In my mind, there's a certain threshold in achieving hair that reaches nipple-length. Now that I've come this far, I can only imagine how incredible it's going to be to see my hair reach the top of my stomach, then my waist, then ????. I can finally consider myself a true longhair :)
P.S. I've lost the munton chops and have concentrated on growing out my goatee. I think I look younger without the chops.

Here's a frontal shot...

I think your hair looks awsome, it's long and curly but not to curly. I think this length suits you perfectly (I'm of course not saying you'd look worse with longer hair).
Thats a great picture you have your hair and beard suit to looks great thanks for sharing the picture !

Thanks for the kind words
Your Welcome
Its my instinct to be polite to all :-)
Fantastic!!
Keep it up,

Isn't the ever changing nature of hair incredible. It morphs and changes with every inch of growth. Wavy/curly hair is the best dude. I agree, volume more than makes up for length. Your hair isn't growing slower, it just appears to be that way because of the waves. Your hair looks very nice and the back shot shows off the length you have.
Good idea. This new regiment sounds less taxing on your hair.
Minimising shampooing is the key.
Agreed. Wish you best of luck in acheiving your future long hair goals.
Agreed. The mutton chops, although cool, were a bit extreme looking because they were so thick and fat. The goatee only look suits you better and doesn't dominate the face.
Your hair is looking incredible Jon.
Isn't it amazing how much hair can grow if we just let it? That isn't to say that 32 months isn't a long time, because it is, yet look how far you've come.
Your hair does look a bit wispy at the ends, but that is much better than frizzy, or ratty or damaged.
All in all long hair really suits you in my opinion, and Iam very happy for you as you dive off that proverbial board into the long hair territory sometimes reffered to as: 'Post-Mid-Back'.
(and looking forward to future progress shots!)
Looking great in Indiana.
I agree, his hair looks a little dry and wispy at the ends. A bit of jojoba oil applied to the ends or a weekly deep condition should fix this minor problem. His hair is still in quite good condition and great length.
I only just recently tried that myself. I used to shampoo every day myself, and got tired of dealing with all the tangles and such. Probably one of the reasons why I ended up chopping it off a couple years ago (and have since been regrowing it). I used to not even use conditioner, but at the suggestion of one of my friend's wife (who just absolutly loves my hair - she comments on it every time she sees me! - but I digress....), and reading up on caring for long hair on here as well as the 'net in general, I decided to start using it.
What a difference it made - my hair is so much easier to manage now (and my hair is much wavier/curlier than yours). The only thing I need to figure out is how to deal with my hair after a day of skiing - talk about friggan tangles! - ugh! I guess just carefully picking at it with a comb to work it out is all I can really do.
Excellent looking hair you got!
Thanks for the compilment. I noticed you don't have an avatar...how long is your hair?
Im loving the waves of your hair, i also think it looks very nice with the colour and length. All go well together to give an overall very nice look to your hair. Have you ever trimmed your hair? if so, how many times for the 32 months of growth?
Thanks for the kind words. I've only had one trim, and that was just to even up the ends...about ½".
Jon, all I have to say is that you're hair is looking absolutely awesome, and my hair is starting to do very similar things in regard to the waviness of it.
You've come a really long way obviously and just just imagine where you could be in another 12 months.
I'm truly inspired by you're progress and hope to get there myself soon enough. Keep it up and take care.
