I would like to take an informal poll and ask people what their top stories or anctedotes they have of musicians with long hair performing in concerts,vidoes,etc. Did the performer headbang, or let their hair fall in their face or swing it around? Here are my top ones.
1.. Ian Astbury of the Cult back in the late 1980's,early 1990's. I saw him perform on an episode of Saturday Night Live where his long, thick , mid-back length hair fell all over his face. At one time he stopped to slow down the tempo and he had a seductive look on his face as his hair fell all around him. Nice!
2. Believe it or not, Jerry Lee Lewis. He had deceptively very long hair that was combed back most of the time. But when he started playing andf that hair fell in his face....mmmmm! My favorite was a clip of a video where he stood on a piano, leaned over, shook his mane, brushed it and then tossed it back.
One of my absolute favorite bands is Slaughter and man, do they have pretty hair! ~LOL~ I saw them last summer and I was right in front of the new(ish) lead guitarist, Jeff Bland(o). He plays with his long, pretty hair in his face all the time and when I got my pictures developed, I discovered I had a picture of him where you could tell he's actually looking THROUGH his hair. You can just see his face through it and it is so cool!
