Hi guys,the subject of undercuts, I already have one, its about three inches on the sides then kind of goes down to about an inch at the back, my long hair is just past shoulder length. I was thinking of growing my undercut out to the same length as my longer hair, as it is starting to get long now anyway, but I will kind of miss it, but then im not sure that i will look back in three years time when my hair starts getting really long and regret not growing out, i know, i know its stupid, it was an impulsive thing half way through my second year of growing my hair, i thought hey an undercut might look cool, its not that bad really, you cant really tell ive got one, well basically my question is do you think i should keep my undercut, as it is a style i like, or should i grow my it out, having a feeling i will regret not growing out earlier in the future, if any geezers here have had undercuts and similar styles please any responses are acceptable, even the WHAT THE HELL YOU GOT AN UNDERCUT FOR YOU TRATOR like i say anything,

or P.S. were is wolfdragonhorse, if u can remember him, he came on here ages ago anout his undercut, he has not osted for a long time, and Gollan's site really inspired me as well, good luck man and great hair :)

it seems you have some really good hair growth going already. If you want to grow out your undercut, you might just look at it as a mild case of "awkward stage" for the next 12 to 18 months. I personally would grow it out. If it doesn't look right to you in about a year and a half, you could renew the undercut - just remember the two weeks rule, i.e. wait at least two weeks before doing anything drastic to your hair.
Personally, there's no such thing as "traitor"-ism in hair styles - the main issue is, are you happy looking at yourself in the mirror. If the undercut was a mistake, well, we all learn from mistakes - but only you can tell whether it was one.
Enjoy, and feel great about yourself and your hair, you have all the right in the world to do so.

Well, I have an undercut (have had it about 4 years) but its only
about an inch and a half or so all around. I get it done about
every two months or so and I really like it.
But you have to decide for yourself what you would like best.
Think about it and don't act on impulse. It seems that the guys
that do stuff on impulse always regret it later.

I love undercuts, I find them really cool... on young guys. An undercut may enhance a young face in an amazing way and it kind of looks more creative and more fun (I know this is a very subjective opinion, but that's how I feel about it).
Of course, I think long hair looks good at practically any age, but long hair with an undercut may look funny on older guys.
