Hello! Some of you might remember me, I've posted a few times around here.
Well, about now is my 2 and 1/2 year mark! I don't rememeber exactly the date I decided to grow my hair out, nor do I remember when my last real haircut was. It's been a LONG adventure of sorts, growing it out. Dealing with my mom (and her poor hair advice), dealing with my school (and their ridiculous hair policies), and dealing with the hair itself (the awkward stage is a B***h!) has been quite an experience.
Lucky for me, all of my friends have been very supportive, and most of my family as well (my sister used to threaten to cut it overnight, but I think she's used to it now). My dad used to be a hippie, with long hair, so he can't complain.
And now, I'm finally at a point (both in length and in condition of care) where I don't need to pull it back every time I go out, or pour gel and sprays into it. I can finally jsut let it go! I can now truthfully say I don't regret much of the journey - I regret the trims I had early on, and the bad haircare stuff I learned from my mom, but everything else - I love it.
Anyway, yesterday me and my mom were doing my hair, trying to figure out what to do for prom. Ended up using some biosilk, and a warm blowdrying (which I almost NEVER do otherwise), and it looked fantastic! I looked so good, I look a few pictures.
I put one pic up here, but imageshack isn't working anymore, so I'll upload some more later. In the meantime, check out my myspace, it has a bunch of pics of me, including one I put together just to show my hair growth.
Ah, well, didn't realize the pic would end up THAT big...sorry.
Just upload it to the server next time, it will be resized automatically I think... or else I think bill has an online resizer or something that spits out approcriately sized image when you upload it...
Hi Malendras the pic may be large but your hair is fantastic!Sounds like quite a time you had growing your hair but to date you've got to be proud of the results so far.At least you had some support from family and friends along the way which has to be a big plus. How much longer do you intend to grow it out anyway as your type of hair would look great at mid back or longer?Anyway glad you decided to post again as I'm sure many here feel likewise.Keep it up.Mark
So far, I'm thinking of growing to mid-back or so, then see from there. Thanks!
Fantastic hair.
Have no regrets. Growing hair is a new experience for most of here. And each time you think you made a mistake, just remember it is all a learning curve. It's shocking how I mistreated my hair in the first 5-6 months of my growth, but over time I've learnt to pay more care to it.
Yes, I remember you. Looks good. I don't think an occasional blowdrying will hurt your hair. Glad to see you have started to enjoy your hair, and for good reason it is that you do, for fine hair it is indeed!
Fantastic long hair and it looks great! Fits you perfectly and looks ever so healthy. Good luck in growing it out further.
Hey man, I hear ya about the awkward stages female dogginess - it's a b**** with puppies, I always say. But wow, was it worth it, dude! Your hair looks nothing short of fantastic, and it looks nothing short of brilliant on you. Your hair has that superlatively healthy sheen to it. All I can say is job very well done.
What interests me most, though, is the photos behind you - it's a collage of cool hair! You don't see many families with so many longhaired photos, particularly on both their sons and daughters. I just can't tell if the one on the far left is ponytailed or short hair, but cool nonetheless.
Keep up the awesome work, dude!
Peace
Thanks! Both the pics of me in the background I have a ponytail. The one of my sister is when she had her hair the longest ever - now it's shorter than mine!
