I always knew about drains for your kitchen sink to trap food particles, but I didn't know until recently about hair catchers you can place over your bath/shower drain! My hair is long, thick, and frizzy, and was ALWAYS clogging up my tub. I got this thing at WalMart, of all places, and now I no longer have to fish out disgusting clumps of hair from the drain, or having to buy bottles of Drano. Wonderful!
If you go to your local hardware store/home depot/loews they
also them. I used them in my last house, the house was so
old I was nervous about Drano and stuff like that harming the
pipes.
The house was 100+ years old, it had every type of
electricty still in use.
I'm with you on that one, JimEd; I was going through a bottle of Dran-O every couple of weeks with so much hair clogging up my shower. But I bought one of those mesh traps and haven't used the stuff since.
Before my dreads I used one of these. . .now almost no hair comes out in the shower, lol
That "Ball" Guy
Any name for that thing? Is it just like a kitchen drain stopper like a slotted colander? I have one of those stand up, or pop up, drain plugs in my shower. Will this work? More ino please....thanks! Eat A Peach For Peace! RedTail Wolf
It's like a mini mesh metal colander that sits down in the drain. When it fills with hair you can just lift it out and clean it. Mine cost around $2, and you should find it in the plumbing section of your local hardware store.
