Hey all.
Today my ladyfriend braided some of my hair and took a picture of it. They kind of look like dreads, but oh well. I thought you fellas might like it if I shared. :) Please note that the weather has been very wet/rainy lately, and that does awkward things to my hair (such as make it look curly/funny). =P
Also note that this is 'day two' hair using my water-only wash-every-few-days routine. She says my hair feels very soft, clean, and undamaged.
Hi Bimclunk,
you should wear this style more often - it really looks cool!
Have fun, and happy growth!

Looks good, something different.
I had a post about this "pseudo" or, i call them "mini braiding" is the right term, a few weeks ago. Sometimes i make little braids with my hair like this. I can see that they aren't holding very well. Unless you tie the ends with something they tend to become loose instantaneously.
try with braiding when your hair is wet still, they seem to hold for me if i do that.
Surprisingly they held tightly throughout the rest of the day and until I woke up today. I think the ends are just a little 'ratty' and loose, but the rest seems to hold well.
Next time I'll ask her to try it when my hair is wet, but I'm afraid of the disastrous results I usually encounter when I touch my drying hair. :P
almost everyone with braids I have seen has something tied at the end to hold it... even girls do it, so theres nothing wrong with tying a little something to hold the braid in. Many use rubber band but they are kinda hard on your hair... but you want something thin so it doesnt fall out.
Wow dude, these look great! The dread comparison is slight, but just strong enough to show that you would look pretty darn cool with dreads, were you ever to try them out.
But again, these are wonderful, even if they're not fully formed. You've inspired me! I might try something similar and hopefully not uproot my hair in the process. We'll see how that goes, or doesn't go.
Have you ever tried a full braid, as in an English or French one? It should be possible at your length.
Hah, thanks man. I don't think I'd ever damaging my hair for a cool look, though. You might say I'm far too attached to ever want to lose it. :D (bad puns aside :P)
Go for it man, and post pictures! Just be careful and slow when you decide to take them out. She did mine a little tight (I think) and I'm having a hard time undoing them without pulling. It's not too bad though, so I'm not worried. :)
This is the first time I've ever had my hair braided, so nope. I'm too clumsy to try something like that out on my own so I'll ask my ladyfriend if she knows how to do those braids. Maybe I can get some practice in on her waist-length hair. :)
