Hey, I've been growing my hair out since early October 05. My hair has finally completely covered my ears and is about 1 inch under them. Now I know everyone is different, but my hair has always grow insanely fast, at least when it was short. I noticed that a lot of guys on this board have hair a lot longer than mine in only 5 months. I just don't get it. First my hair grows like crazy, and now it is painfully slow (its been at this length for almost 2-3 months). Is this as long as I can grow it, or is my hair just weird? * note: I did have my dead ends cut off about 3 weeks ago, since they were curling bad, so that took off about 1/4 of an inch. Anyways, on to another topic: I have thick hair that likes to curl at the ends. However, after getting my dead ends cut off, my hair culred a lot less, but I knew I could do even better. But I didn't want to use straighteners. Os I asked my mom, and she recommended I only wash my hair every other day, or even every 2 days. She also said that I could train my hair by slicking it back when I shampoo and wait about 5 mins before rinsing. I thought she was crazy, but I tried it anyway, and I must say that my hair has very little curl to it anymore, and what does still curl is slowly straighteneing, and I can control that anyway with basic gel or hairspray.
