I have to admit I love the peaceful symbolism connected with the look. Were there actually a lot of male hippies that wore flowers in their hair? On the right occasion I'd wear it publically...
Hahahahaha, that is a cool look. Peace dude!
If i didn't look twice i would think you're a girl with the cute little flower and such nice long hair. I see you have lost the beard, doesn't matter at all really, both looks are good. The hair looks longer and always beautiful. Thanks for sharing these, peace Jason. PS : i would be interested to see the reactions of others in public. Especially those macho, flat top, 6"5 muscle dudes. They'd be like "what the hell is he doing ?!".
I don't know about the hippies from the 60's, but hippies nowadays (including myself) will occasionally wear flowers in the hair during times of celebration.
That "Ball" Guy
yes some of the hippies from the 60's did wear flowers in there hair.
another thing that the 60's hippies liked is beads and tie-dye
and most anything bright colors
I'm not sure if any of the original male hippies wore flowers but
they look nice on you. Speaking of hippies if anybody watches
the Amazing Race the "hippies" won the last one. yea!
PS Do you do a lot of partying? In some of your pictures you
have red rimmed eyes. ;)
Yeah, i noticed this too. Probably excessive stress or lack of sleep.
It doesn't matter if I party or have lack of sleep, my eyes and undereyes look like they've been punched. I'm actually very self-conscious about it.
If you haven't always had the redness consider what you have going near your face or in your environment- pets, scents, products...
For what it is worth Jason, I have never noticed the redness of your eyelids until this photo series. They are fun pictures, by the way!
Elizabeth
Thanks, Elizabeth. I'm glad the problem isn't so glaring that every person focuses on it. And, thanks about the pictures...
Didn't you moan recently about how board member spell 'definitely'? Shame on you :-)
The flowers look great - don't know if I could ever carry that off on the streets of Yorkshire though!
Hope the red eyes are just lack of sleep ;-)
"1 entry found for publically.
publically
adv : in a manner accessible to or observable by the public;
Both 'publicly' and 'publically' are acceptable with neither listed as the preferred spelling.
I heartily agree about the streets of Yorkshire or most places for that matter!
Let's see, Friday night I went to bed at 1:30, got to sleep at 2 and got up at 7. Drank nothing. I guess it was lack of sleep. Other times? I plead the fifth, lol!
The shame is all mine then! I've never seen that word spelled other than 'publicly' so my mistake - is 'publically' an alternative Amercian spelling?
Another language question - what does 'plead the fifth' mean?
Plead the Fifth (also take the Fifth) means to refuse to answer on the grounds that one may incriminate oneself, refering to the Fifth Amendment.
I don't know if dictionary.com is an American run site but it doesn't list any differentiation between the two spellings. My version of Microsoft Word accepts both spellings.
I meant I wanted to plead the fifth amendment (of the U.S. Constitution) - no one shall be forced to incriminate themselves. ;)
The 5th Amendment to our Constitution (USA) basically states that you do not have to respond to questioning if the response would incriminate you. Therefore when someone "pleads the fifth" they aren't going to say anything which would indicate that they had a part in, of, or about the issue being discussed.

Hi Jason,
that looks great, thanks for sharing! Especially with the smile, it's one of the best pictures of you so far! There will be a few good occasions to wear it publicly...
Best wishes, and CU!

Well, the song does go, "If you're goin' to San Francisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair..."
And I hope there are many such right occasions, because you should really show this off. :P I love how this looks - it's gentle, natural (well, more like Mother-Natural), feminine (in a positive, expressive way), all the good stuff. I've gotta try that when I hit shoulder-length.
Have you experimented with different flowers before? A large blossom behind your ear might look interesting, although all the taboo-er in town. :P But hey, do what you will.
Great look again, especially with your hair color.
Thanks, man. I guess I got in touch with my feminine side, lol!
That is the first flower I've ever put in my hair. Hehe, maybe I'll try another variety next time.
I'd be very curious to see how you'd look with a flower in your hair. It's cool you're open to the look.
Jason
I don't recall many of us wearing flowers in our hair back then. There was some flower wearing in celebrations or in demonstrations or just screwing around. I always thought of that as more of a West Coast/California thing (I'm from New York).
Of course, the key may be the "I dont recall...." Hey, after all, I was a late '60s/early '70s long-hair hippy freak. As the saying goes "If you remember the 60s, you weren't there!"
Anyway, it looks good on you. The world needs a lot more peaceful symbolism. So why not do it as the spirit moves you. And enjoy.

Hah, cool stuff. Your hair is getting nice and long. Your message reminded me of the danish rock/grunge/whatever band Dizzy Mizz Lizzy in their song Glory:
Welcome to my inspiration
