I am new here and was away for a few days. I come back to read what seem like personal problems, some harsh talk, some wierd talk concerning sex etc. As a new member someone elighten me please, does this go on here often? I didn't join this board to judge people on sexual orientaton, lifestyles etc. Nor did I join to discuss those things. To me this is a long hair site. I hope that's what it is! Maybe these are rare occasions. I found the vibe here helpful and informative. I hope I'm right. Most boards I post to are turning into nothing but flame wars.
I hope this board is about longhair, the growth it takes inside and out to have longhair in this society. Those of you who have been around much longer please reply if you have a moment and let me know your feelings on the meaning of this board. I really like the information and exchanges here, but if there are other agendas here maybe I should rethink it........So far the place as been great. Thanks for any enlightenment. Eat A Peach For Peace, RedTail Wolf
RedTail Wolf, strife is very unusual here on what is one of the friendliest, well regulated, positive communities I have seen online. I think every regular here would wholeheartedly agree they "didn't join this board to judge people on sexual orientaton, lifestyles etc." I think very well of you for wanting a clarification on that though.
Elizabeth
The agenda here is, as the board says at the top, men's long hair. But, sometimes, other things do come up. I have to say that on occasion, I have been a part of these off-topic debates and rants. Guys with long hair or guys growing long hair certainly are not a monolithic group, and disagreements do occur. In general, however, you will find that it is a very supportive and caring place. You will find lots of hair help, and answers to any of your questions. Though, it seems you may know more answers than questions, if your picture posted some days ago is any indication! There are of course lot of different types of personalities and people here, and that comes out sometimes and allows everybody to get to know each other better. Sometimes, those things that we find out about others, we don't like. But then sometimes, those things we find we don't like, aren't they sometimes a mirror of ourselves, showing us what we don't like about ourselves? Is that why we find it hard to read?
I hope you stick around here. You seem to be a great guy, having had lots of adventures and experiences to impart unto us all.
And a fellow Southerner as well!
See ya later, Bragi
P.S. - Let's see... What can I parallel your "Eat a peach for peace" with...
Crack a pecan for peace?
Boil a peanut for peace?!?
I've been a member here off and on for about 3 years, and these occurances are very rare, and definately not the norm.
The vast majority of time I've been here I've seen nothing but good, supportive people exchanging information, ideas, suggestions, about long hair on men, both practical (shampoos, conditioners, oils, etc) and sociological (family, work, etc). You need not fear any flame wars, the Administrator and moderators have been good in the past on quelling such uprises.
Be well,

Oh, yeah... all the time... we're a regular troll-magnet...
This is actually a front for gay priests who enjoy a little variety in their... extracuricular... activities. Don't tell anyone.
They are. It generally is. You're right.
We're quite tame, actually.
Yup.
Been posting since '97. I do experience burn-out from seeing new people ask questions that've been asked by others time and time again, but that's to be expected with a board dedicated to a single topic. When it happens, I take a break for a few weeks/months and then I come back.
Just don't into the basement, and you'll be fine.
;)
It is a long hair board. Period.
Along with that comes a diverse background, upbringing, thoughts, etc.
There will be clashes, because everyone is different. Most will take that in stride, but you always have your moments where ppl just don't get along.
I manage 4 fish boards. They're all "wired for sound" right now. I think it's just the summer tension building up right now.
Stick around, I think you'll like it!
Love your hair!
