Hey guys
i haven't posted for a little while but i seek some advice...
At the moment my hair is in really bad shape. It is very dry and damaged - it hardly feels like i've got any of my natural oils in it and it has ceased to be soft, probably because of the split ends.
To my dismay i went to the hairdresser's last week and got a maitenance trim to bandaid the problem for the time being, she commented on the poor condition of my hair and asked what shampoo and conditioner i was using (i use garnier fructis shampoo and conditioner for dry hair). She put me onto a salon deep treatment shampoo and conditioner which i have been trialling which, she tells me, will give moisturise my hair better than the garnier products. Tentative in trying these products i only bought the small size shampoo and conditioner.
...and now my question: i shampoo and deep-condition every 3-4 days but would it be more effective if i conditioned every 2 day (but still shampooing on the 4th)? I realise that on normal hair this would leave it feeling quite greasy but my hair, in its current state, is poor at best. I also lose a lot of hairs during combing (even finger-combing) due to this damage (i believe)
your advice would be soundly appreciated
Ryan
I think you need to get a balance going between deep conditioning and regular conditioning.
Perhaps alternate every two days, 1 time conditioning, the next time deep conditioning (and use the shampoo on this cycle).
e.g.
Mon. Shampoo, deep condition.
Tues.
Wed. Condition.
Thurs.
Fri. Shampoo, deep condition.
Sat.
Sun. Condition.
Sun. and mon. would be luxury days for your hair :-)
Of course you could always mix up the shampooing frequency based upon things like sport, gym, going out, rain etc. but maybe keep the conditioning schedule constant?
deano sounds good
thanks mate
i'll try it
I shampoo every Friday (once and week) and use a high quality conditioner everyday. I have similar hair to how you describe, and this seems to work for me. Took me awhile to find a routine that works for me, which this does.
