Wow! I can't believe it has been a whole year since I decided to change my self around, starting with the hair. About nine months on this board I think. As much fun as growing my hair out has been I have had much more fun getting to know people on this board even more!

Hi Chris glad to see you back again after a short absence! Always enjoy reading your comments as you've always said nice things to the board members.Anyway those are really great pics of your hair to date and you look so cool as a longhair!You should have started growing you hair in yours 20s like I did but at least your doing it now. I try to imagine how you'd look with waist length hair and can only say that something I'd like to see.Anyway keep it up and glad your back!!Mark
Thanks Mark for the compliments. You know when I think back on my 20s I was interested in longhair in the sense that I thought it did look cool but I never did it. I think I had convinced myself that I wasn't able to do it or not cool enough or who the heck knows!
Taken me too long to overcome my depression/illness I have been struggling with. But as soon as I had a break in that last year, I went straight for longhair. So I do believe thats what kept me away.
Never again!! I am here to stay!
Sorry to hear about your depression as I never would have guessed you went through that but I'm glad for you that things are looking up.When I was in high school I always admired the guys that had long hair but never had the nerve to grow it then.However when I graduated and got the heck out of that place I really started to chance my appearance.Mainly losing weight and growing my hair.As for you sticking around here I know you will.Mark

Looking great Chris! I know what you mean about changing yourself. I've felt that way in the last few months; without really saying to myself "I'm going to make some big changes" that's exactly what I have been doing.

I got to tell you I thought for the longest time that I had some form of depression caused by a physical illness and I am still not sure what it is exactly but I have changed my diet the last few weeks based on the assumption thats hypoglycemia and I have had a big change in my mood. Things are looking up for me at last!

It sure doesn't seem fast Katamah :), but thanks anyway. I am enjoying the long hair more and more. Odd stuff like noticing it swinging when i turn my head around fast. Things I never would have thought of until it happens to you lol.

I am getting to like it now. Time was before I came here that I didnt like the grey but everybody thought it was a good thing and all I could see was AGE in it. It is unique I see now.
That is just astonishing Chris and looks perfect for you! Glad you have been enjoying the journey. That makes it much more fun and yes, aren't the other guys on this board great! Before you know it another year will pass and you will see really long hair. I don't know what your goal is, but whatever........that photo is proof positive that long hair fits you perfectly. :-)

Thanks man! I would love to have waist length hair in theory, don't know how far I will get but midback is a reasonable goal for starters. From there who knows :)

Its natural all right, and premature if you ask me, I have two older brothers and they have less grey than I do! Oh well I'm getting to identify with it :)

Excellent progress there. Your hair looks almost like mine did after one year, I will be at 18 months towards the end of June. I will post progress pictures then. No, nothing very specific, but I do want it to grow at least halfway down my back. I want to be able to do fun and cool things with it. :-)

Thanks Zig, I never look right if I try to smile for the camera, it comes out looking really stupid! The best I can do if I know I'm being photographed is manage a small slight smile that doesn't look to unnatural, lol
Sweet progress, dude! I like the straightness of the hair down to the little jutting wave at the end - it looks youthful and cool, and really suits your face. The streak is enviable.
Are you wearing your contacts? You're wearing everything but a smile in those pics. :P
Well I don't really wear my hair that way at all cause I don't know if it looks right on me, I usually tuck it behind my ears all day so thats why there is a slight curl to the ends. My hair is perfectly straight if not bent my touching anything (like my shoulders or around the ears).
So I have straight hair that just hangs down if I don't tuck it behind my ears. Actually like Ender's pic above , but much shorter :) I haven't tried to wear it like this but I might when my hair gets long enough for a tail, then I will see what loose over the ears looks like to. You think it looks ok like in the pic?
As for smiles, I can't do camera smiles, they look weird so I have found this expression doesnt seem unhappy or very dorky either :)
Looking great Chris! It seems you have a fast growth rate and just about skipped any awkward stage.
Thanks Jason, I guess it seems like a fast growth rate maybe cause I started with average length hair, unlike many guys who seem to have grown out from no hair or very short buzzcuts! I actually have no real idea how fast it grows lol, I just kind of let it happen. I think my hair looks awkward still cause I am in between being a longhair and normal style, but my hair is not so physically annoying since I can tuck it back behind my ears most of the time.
You have got like 'perfect' hair. I bet it never tangles or looks bad or out of place. Well, you are just lucky I suppose.
Great Progress, and just think of how long it'll be in another year. Looking forward to that for sure.

LOL well that's really funny! Cause though I always try to be careful I now have to spend MUCH longer detangling my hair in the morning and at various times during the day I find myself finger combing it out at random times, at work, on my commute, etc. Its become almost a subconscious habit I imagine probably most guys here develop. As for hair out of place, well let me just say that I had to take more than two pictures to get two I wouldn't be super embarrased having on the net lol! It is amazing how just a slight change in position or wind or anything can mess up your hair :)

Thanks Jean, I know its not very creative but it does provide excellent contrast I thought. I always think I am going to do something more original in terms of progress pics the next time but then I get busy and kind of want to just get the pic out there :)
I do enjoy the apparently fast growth of straight hair, but then a little body in it wouldn't hurt but thats not gonna happen because I like to leave it as natural as I can.

Chris, you are truly doing great for one year and you must be very happy that it has grown out so quickly. It's been a pleasure getting to know you as well as you have given me very positive and encouraging feedback when I first posted on the board several months ago, which has helped me very much.
We have been growing for nearly the same amount of time and yours is looking slightly longer than mine so far, and it looks fantastic.
