I am just a visitor here, being a guy who wears his hair short. But I have to mention that, from what I've seen, you guys are MUCH kinder to each other than the guys on the Buzzboard. (The Haircut Site)
My hair used to be long; now that I'm older the short looks works much better for me. But I totally respect the dedication that you guys have to your long hair. I only wish that the Buzzboard was aimed towards the civility that this board is. The Buzzboard gives short-haired guys a bad reputation!
Peace!
BuzzCT
As a one time flat-head, let me be the first to say thank-you.

I never heard the term flathead Steve, lol!
I think it means Flat-top Never had that either !
Hi,
I wouldn't even dare post on the buzzboard, for i would cop so much crap of some of those guys.
The thing i don't understand is - we tolerate them and go along with our own business, if they want to have short hair then best of luck to them in life. But some of those guys take it on themselves to hijack our photos and make all sorts of nasty comments about individuals from this board(including myself).
Why can't they just ignore us and mind their own business?
Seems most of them are pretty sick people and need help.
Maybe they are insecure about themselves.
It is strange that you post here but atleast it is good to know that not all buzz cut males are intolerant and narrow minded, like how i percieve them from that board anyways.
For many people, an "us vs. them" mentality is a way of life. To mask their own insecurities and inadequacies, they have to have a way of mocking/hating/oppressing others who are different from them in some absolutely trivial way. (And, when you get right down to it, aren't all differences absolutely trivial?)
After reading some of the comments on that board, I just want to say...
I love you guys!!!
There, I'm done being mushy now.
Oops, used the wrong font size. I meant to say:
I love you guys!!!
Doesn't that make more sense?
Why am I not surprised?
I guess I'm more narrow minded than I thought! Because of the remarks I get from short haired people, I tend to think that they are the intolerant, narrow minded people, but I guess you prove that image of mine wrong!
You know I really wish our world could tolerate ANY hair style on a man, but sadly that isn't so. Still, I won't let that keep me from growing my locks. :)
Thanks for the support! I myself just took a trip over to the Buzzboard and saw some of the ignorant, atrocious comments. See this topic -- http://members5.boardhost.com/buzzboard/msg/1149519910.html
Personally I don't think a board is even needed for discussing short haircuts. There's hardly anything to talk about regarding shaved heads and buzzed hairstyles, aside from where to get a good haircut, but I mean come on, your mom could do it! I find it pathetic that these guys only discuss what they feel to be the masculinity of shaved heads and how "stupid" and "girly" long-haired men are
Take a look on our messageboard and count how many topics have been made where the lot of us take stabs at short-haired men.... ZERO!
I thought the buzzcut board was just the short hair version of this side. I wasn't aware of the hostility.
People that insult others like this have issues they need to work on. I train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (think wrestling), so most of the people there are either really short hairs or bald. None of them give me any crap about my hair or anything like that. We're all friends. It's definately more practical to have short hair when training, but I just don't like it. I only train like 10 or so hours per week. That's not enough to justify it for me. Especially since I look like a doofus with short hair. Everybody I've talked to agrees that I look more mature with longer hair.
It really just depends on the person.
Agreed. Maybe they protest too much! Sounds like insecurity regarding their own masculinity/sexuality to me. Men who go on and on and on about how straight and manly they are are usually at a different point on the 'sliding scale' to what they'd have you believe.
I really dislike the Buzzboard. One time, one of the idiot members of that board stole my picture off one of my posts on this site and posted it as their own, saying some crap like, "I'm thinking of cutting my hair, what do you all think?" Then there was a slew of posts like, "Definitely cut your hair, it will make your dad proud!" The nerve some people have astounds me. Oh well, there's not much we can do except ignore them. Anywho, know you're welcome at this board; everyone around here is very, very friendly and supportive :-)
They don't go through intense hair maintenance, and the discrimination. So, I don't know,....narrow minded? I can care less about the buzzboard anyway.
lol
I use to visit there at one time and yes ive seen how they behave to one another its very narrow minded at times putting it mildly but thanks for your complements its much appreciated !
Axel
what really made me angry was the post about the mother who had forced her son in a chair and got him a hair cut and then the entire bored was complimenting her about how it was good for her child except a few who im suspecting don't really have short hair =)
