Hello all, I am a guy with long hair, that's inbetween my shoulderblades (not above or to the bottom exactly). I've been growing it for awhile now, and while it's soft and smooth, it doesn't have a shine to it, and it's not silky like girl's hair. I've heard that taking a cold shower helps it do that, and I've started recently, but it doesn't seem to have changed much. Perhaps it's the shampoo and condiI use Dove, but if there's a better kind out there, somebody please tell me what kind, because I actually need to buy some more shampoo soon, and any other recommendations on having shiny and silky hair. Below is a picture to give an idea. It's longer now than in the pic, but it looks the same
Brushing alot brings out the shine through natural oils within the scalp. Use a good quality brush and brush it every morning and night. There are so many good shampoos and conditoners as well as leave in conditioners. They all work different for each of us. How ever switching products every 4 months is always better as it allows the hair and scalp to not become loaded with the ingredients of one product.
good luck
garnier fructis has a very good range of products... try their conditioner... or try buying a few different conditioners at once and try them all out, youll need to wash your hair throrughly between trying them but this is how i found the best conditioner for me, garnier fructis =) a few people recommend garnier fructis on here so your not just taking my word on it =) also ive found conditioner made for colored hair (even if you havent colored your hair) is usually a good product to leave your hair silky =D nice hair, will look great if you carry growing out the fringe bangs =D
Ill have to try their shampoos and conditioner too after what you all have stated on this topic. Might do the trick for the problem I have with sham. and con. Although my hair gets nice and straight and manageable because of lubrication from the sebum in my hair after a few days, when I 'wash' it after a week, it becomes a dry, wavy, frizzy and tangled mess. As one of you mentioned earlier, sometimes its the product you use. To help relieve this problem, I've tried the Garnier Fructis' anti-frizz serum after washing my hair. The serum works wonders, and it smells really good too, like coconut oil and other tropical fruits. I recommend this product for those with curly hair and or/ those who may have frizz problems every now and then.
They also have a product too for "hard to grow hair" and prevention of split ends in trouble spots but havent tried it yet.
Happy growing everyone :)
Its probably the conditioner you are using, I'm not suggesting the conditioner is bad, only that its not designed for the look you want.
Check out www.hqhair.com they have a massive range of haircare products, and I'm sure you'll be able to find something designed specifically to add shine.
Hello Sorted nice to see you thanks for paying a visit to the site
