HI Friends;
I have never had long hair, though I dearly want to have one. My hair is very soft and straight. I have some doubts regarding the long hair. My hair grows too fast from the top but from the back its very slow (well probably I get it cut too short), so my question is do I need to first get the back hair really long???
Second question is, I have suddenly started seeing a tremendous hair loss problem. I am worried that if i grow my hair long the hair loss might increase. Is there any treatment for this????
Any help will be greatly appreciated. I am posting my current photo so that you guys can give me some guidance as to how shoudl i go about having long hair.
I'm not really seeing any hair loss, judging from the pic you posted. Your hair looks like it's very healthy and would look great long. I'm guessing this hair loss you're referring to is the average loss of hairs on the head on a daily basis. As it gets longer, you'll notice it happening more often but it's perfectly normal. I would only become concerned if you start seeing signs of male pattern baldness
Welcome to the forum Adi! From the looks of it you have the right type of hair that will look great when its long. The question is how long you want to go. 2 years worth of length from where you are right now would be a very practical short term goal. You already have a good head start.
That's an advantage for anyone with that kind of hair. Straight hair, depending on the texture will show length quite well over the span of several months.
Dont worry. We all do, but 1 1/2 to 2 years goes by before you know it, and BAM! You've got some nice locks of hair and you'll really like how its growing.
If you are concerned about matching the length, get a trim NOW rather than later on before embarking on your long hair journey to even it up but make sure whoever cuts it (very important you can find someone you can trust with your hair), doesn't take too much length off. I would acutally almost advise against a trim because its hard to find someone who wont get carried away with chopping your hair off, but its up to you.
Dont worry. It's normal part of hair growth and sometimes this is caused by stress (if you have had a recent period of stressful events, etc). Usually, thousands of hairs are in different phases of growth. Some will be in terminal length and will inevitably fall out soon and others have freshly started. We all lose a few hairs everyday and as they get longer they're more visible.
Remember that the first 6 months to 1 year are the toughest (Im almost to month 7). After that, your hair starts to get better. :) Good luck bro!
i have shoulder length hair and i want it to be to my butt how can i do that without proudcuts i need step by stp?
Hi and welcome,
If i was you, i would let all of the hair on your scalp grow naturally, without any trimming or 'evening up' of the length.
It will all even itself with length after a few years of growth.
You may wish to get small trims at the back of your head from time to time, to stop the 'mullet look', but it isn't recommended as it reduces length and may even prolong the 'awkward phase'. Do not cut the hair on the front, as soon as the bangs get long enough they will sit behind your ears nicely and then you will be thanking me :)
I don't see any major hair loss, as you described. It seems you have a full, thick head of healthy hair. Maybe it is just you consciously realising and taking notice of natural shedding cycles. Nothing to worry about, ok. As hair increases in length, so do the shred strands, so it may create the illusion that you are shedding more hair when infact you aren't!
I would suggest that you read the FAQ located at the top>links section of this site. It is an invaluable source of advice that every aspiring long hair must read, to answer any questions and queries you may have. If you study it carefully and follow the advice of Mr Choisser you will be well on your way to becoming a long hair. Good luck !
Thanks a lot for all the hints, tips and encouragement. Now, I feel better and much more motivated to have long hair.
Thanks a lot to all again. will keep posting updated pictures once i see a considerable change.
Are you pulling their collective legs? I see no thinness or shedding. I do not see your hair as soft and straight, but rather as full and potentially dramatic in its statement because of its texture.
However, logic defies lettng the back of yout hair grow and trimming the top. This will result only in a dead fish. If you need any trims at all, and some would advise no, then trim only the back and let the rest catch up.
