havent got a haircut since febuary. and for the first couple months my hair was growing rather fast. but now , it feels like it stopped. what the heck is going on?
You get slow and faster periods of growth, but it doesn't look short for 4 months of growth. The shag looks good on you.
It's an illusion caused by ratios. Hair grows a fairly consistent 1/2 inch per month. So if a person has a 1/2 inch buzz, which grows out to 1 inch in one month, they've doubled their length. In another month (1.5 inches) they'll add 50% more to their hair length. But as it gets longer and longer, the 1/2 inch is a smaller and smaller percentage of the total lenght, ergo the hair seems to grow slower.
but isnt it true that as your hair sheds it kinda slows growth, you know longer older hair sheds leaving the shorter hair so the average growth would slow down as it gets longer.... but I dont know, I felt as if my hair has stopped growing since it seems to be constant length for 3 months or more.
I thought mine had stopped growing too after about 5 months, but 3 months later, it has most certainly grown as fast and consistent as it ever has. In these 3 months of doubt, my hair has gone from mid ear length to almost 1 inch past my ear. Plus, 1 month ago I had my bangs and dead ends trimmed to keep down the curling, and promote more even growth. My bangs were down past my eye, and I had them trimmed to brow level. In one month they're already back down to my eye. Anyways, don't worry about it, you'reh air is getting longer, so just keep taking care of it to continue that growth.
Welcome a fellow Matt! It could just be going through a delayed process... eat up on proteins and it should start to shoot again..
Welcome to the board aswell
I noticed when growing my hair out, from time to time it seemed like it was not growing as fast, but if I checked against a point of reference, such as my eyebrows or the tops of my ears, I would see that it was growing.
I don't know if it really makes that big a difference, but it seems that my hair has been healthier, if not faster to grow, when taking a multi-vitamin supplement and a Biotin supplement daily.
