I had a short cut back at the end of the summer- shaved on the sides and about 1" on top. Now the hair on the sides just about covers my ears and the hair on top isn't blending in well with the sides. What should I do, cut the hair over my ears and let the top become even with the sides or leave it alone? I'm not asking which looks better, I just want to know which one would be more beneficial. Thanks.
the top has longer way to go, let it grow. u can trim the sides a bit, it's easier to grow them out a little bit later.
worked for me but your mileage may vary.
More "beneficial"???? Why is someone who would shave their head like that even be visiting this site?? Don't let a hair be cut on your head for at least a year then come back and ask the question.
You're saying I'm not good enough for this site?? I cut my long hair over the summer because of family pressure etc. Now I see that's stupid, and I'm growing it long. Just lay the hell off.
do what you want to you your hair. don't worry about what anyone else says. reminds me of the time my friend went to a phish show and got ridiculed for dressing "too preppy". some of us are missing the point....
Theres definetely no need to cut the top. My advice is to get it blended in some up to the top. In my opinion growing out ALL you hair which is real popular on this site is kinda outdated. Theres no need to go "Extreme" and get an "undercut" with eveything but the top shaved, unless u happen to like that look, which I do. Theres nothing wrong with layered cuts, however. If you grow your hair out from a buzz, its gonna look quite ratty after 2 months or so, what with the baby hairs people have around their hairline in the back and stuff, and their is no good way to comb hair that lentgh: too long on top and ratty at the sides to comb forward, too short and ratty to part, and if you combed it back you would look like you REALLY need a haircut. Your looking at a very long "akward" stage growing hair out that way. All my opinions, no offense to anyone.
hey,
I would agree with the first reply that it is a not fun phase to go through.
and I think that the guy who said "why are you visiting this site if you would even think about shaving your head" is being rediculous. First of all, lighten up buddy, its just hair. It grows. Thats all I have to say.
I have one thing to say about letting your hair grow for a year without cutting it. You'll look like a pile of crap if you do that. You'll look like a guy dragged from the street. Girls grow out there hair out lots and I don't see any girls saying, "oh just let it grow and never cut it". Thats crazy. You'll have to invest some momey in a good hair dresser and get trims about every three months. Just make sure that they don't convince you to cut your hair short if you want long hair, even if they stage is painful.
But anyway, good luck. If you really want long hair, you'll go through the stages. and you don't have to make it painfull if you don't want. Be creative. You hair is only as stylish and nice as you make it.
