Yesterday was the last day of school (of my sophomore year in high school).
That means two and a half more months of hair growth before September. cool.
I remember the past 2 summers where my hair was in the awkward stage, then in a slightly-better-than-awkward stage. The first one was unbearable, I'd get sweaty and the hair would be stuck all over my face, haha. Last year wasn't too bad because I could at least shove it behind my ears.
This summer I've found that, due to never wearing a tail causing my hair to fall over my front, it really covers and heats up my entire neck and can be most uncomfortable at times. My friend actually succombed to the heat last year - having considered a change for a few weeks, the last straw was a hot afternoon when he 'snapped' and shaved off 20 inches of hair.
Ah well, it will be winter soon enough and we'll be laughing with our warm heads :D I love the cold.

hehe..I guess us longhairs have to pay this price to have longhair...the heat waves..arrrgh!!
Personally I've always preferred summer heat waves over cold weather.
The summer growth literally saved my hair last time.
I went to Catholic school (graduated earlier this month)and they had the crazy hair restrictions, that it couldn't go below the collar. When I left for summer break, my hair was still in the awkward stage. I survived without a haircut by tilting my head forward every time the Dean walked by. My hair was still too short to put in a ponytail as well.
By the time I got back, I could put it in a ponytail - which saved me. She said I could keep my hair as long as I pulled it into a ponytail, and then held the ponytail above the collar. So, I basically made a segmented ponytail and bobby-pinned it to the back of my head all year.
Of course, I have the odd distinction of going through 2 summers with awkward stage hair.
