Hello, recently I have been intrested in the under-cut hair cut style, I think it would suite me well, coonsidering I like Hard Rock/Metal music and am into the Industrial/Goth scene. I always had the sides and back shaved before, but always had the top thinned and shortend out, this time I am thinking about doing the same except I would have the top grown long so it grew over the back, and sides, while being short under-neath. This is something I would have to deeply think about. I was also thinking about letting it all grow out, without the under-cut so im kind of in a bind right now, still debating, I am noticing and have taken a liking to Jim Morrisons hair, and was thinking maybe mine might be simular to his when longer, a mix between Rob Zombie/Jim Morrison I guess that would be pretty cool. feedback needed still trying to decide what route to take.
Yes, you definitely want to think very carefully about having an
undercut. They can be cool but an undercut is definitely not for
everyone.
If you decide to do it you can always start small. Just cut 2"
or less instead of an extreme undercut.
Sometimes less is better.
Good luck with your decision.
ok first of all, rob zombie's hair is disgusting....so don't let this effect your decision at all, serioiusly...i've seen it in person. the only thing really beneficial to an undercut is that a) it does keep your head a little cooler, but what about when winter comes? (plus it looks terrible when wet) and b) it's a little easier to take care of. personally, i would let it all grow out, it looks so much better. basically you're between jason newsted and dave mustaine....and only ONE still has their locks, plus i've always been a megadeth fan!
The best thing to do is to grow it all out first, and then once it's like shoulder-length, decide whether you want the undercut or not. This allows you to see how you'll look with hair grown out all over but also allows you to get an undercut without too much hassle, and with hair already long enough to cover the sides.
I agree with FA. Grow it all first, and then if you decide to go with the undercut, then at least you saw what your hair would be like with it all grown.
