Hi megamax392, I started growing my hair in 1992. I had a hideous rat tail hairstyle at the time. (I just had to get up and take a look at that old photo.) It was about 2" long except for a slender tail in the back which was about 9" long.
Most folks here would just cut everything off and start over. Not me, I just let my hair grow until the rat tail just melted into the hair growing around it. It just slowly disappeared until it was undiscernable. I don't miss it one bit.
