Sometime in Sept will mark the 4th year of non-stop growth (with one exception for isolated "Split ends") of my hair. The longer it gets the better and the easier it becomes. It is so wonderful to have long hair. I now wear it all kinds of ways, but this is the way it usually ends-up on its own. (Think EdG mentioned the same for him also?) Sorry guys, I have a phoebia when it comes to being in front of a camera and freeze. Alas, after the photo is taken I can smile again.
Killer hair man! i can't wait till i hit the 4 year mark in another 3 years. is that a dachshund in the first photo? i have a dachshund named peanut, i love that dog to death
Not sure why is posted my reply 3 times.

Thank you for your very kind comments. Just hang on, you'll reach the 4 year mark. The daschund belongs to the teenager next door who took the pics. She came over here with him and played with my two dogs while the photos were being taken. Here are mine: Brendan and Heidi.
Those two certainly are very cute together, looks like they get along real well too!
It certainly does look good, and I can only imagine how much easier it becomes at that length, kind of like when tying knots in a piece of rope. Much easier if you got some length to play with, otherwise it's difficult to handle. Yeah I know, poor analogy, but you get my drift. But it does look good. I wonder if I'll allow mine to get to that length. We'll see.
LukeB
Thank you Luke. You are ever so kind to comment. As for your own length, it rather evolves I think somehow as the journey continues. For all you know you may end-up with butt-length hair. Time will tell you what you like best. Just go with your instincts and what pleases you the most.
Justin
Hi Justin, your hair is beautiful, and you are getting good length on it now. Waist length is not too far away. Thanks for the update.
Absalom
Hi Absalom
Wow, that compliment can sure make a guys day, especially when it comes from you who's hair is so magnificent. Yes, waist length IS coming and I feel I am going to make it there and even beyond based on the fact that terminal doesn't even appear to be rearing its ugly head yet.
Hope all is going well with you today Scott. Thanks again.
Justin~
fabulous hair. are you going to keep growing it?
Sure am and have no plans to stop. Genetics and hair will be making that decision. Many thanks for the compliment. I appreciate it very much.
Justin, what lovely hair you've got there =) It's envious, marvelous, beautyfull... and LOOONG! I can't wait to achieve longer lenghts... The pictures came out really nicely, and the hair is suiting you very good =) I like the third picture the most, I love to see some hair in the front and some hair to the back, as people would wear it in the medieval period... I gongratulate you so far =) I'd like to see a back full view picture anyways, we can't see the ends of your hair in the second picture... I'm currious as you must be closer and closer to waist lenght =) I wish you a lot of future growth fellow =) And...... Your pets are lovely, how lucky you are =)
Hey Joao
Envious? Boy, if I were you with what you have now it looks like you may very well end-up as heros of all heros. Your new Avatar looks great! For a back view of my hair taken a few months ago just click on my picture above and it will bring you right to it. YOu will also see the natural V shape because I don't fall for trims. As always, my best to you as well as your lovely little sister. So glad you stuck-it-out and have now landed yourself where you have. It all starts to get easier now. Thank you for everything.
Justin~
First a question: so you mean that your hair falling over one shoulder as in this pic, is its natural state?
If so thats great as sometimes i put my hair like this on purpose!
Well what can I say Justin? Your hair is looking stupendous. Its in good condition, has excellent length and suits you to a tee.
I'm also sure that if you tilted your head back, you would be approaching waist length!
I wish you future growth to get there for real though, although I'm sure this will occur without my performing incantations!
I also wanted to say for the record that I really appreciate having you around here. You are helpful to everyone, with great advice and encouragement. You really are a valuable member of our 'team'.
You have also alays treated me with respect and I appreciate that. I consider you a friend.
Thanks for the update buddy.
Hey Dean -
I would have to say yes to this as well as how it looks in pic #3 also. For whatever reason, long hair on me doesn't seem to like to stay in back of me that long. I just bend down to pick something up and I end-up so often with either of the two that you see posted. But, I really like it this way also and find myself going more and more without a band around my head to keep all of the hair in back of me. At this point I would say I am 50/50 Ponytail look as well as this most of the time. I always like something just a little bit different anyway.
Thanks ever so much.
Yes, if I do this it does hit the waist and a little below at that.
Thanks for such kind comments Dean. I wish for your future growth to continue as remarkably as it has been so far. Hey..........isn't it a blast! :-)
(Blush) Thanks and I am very happy to be here. But for another record, you have been a 100% asset to this board and have contributed ever so much yourself. I for one am so glad that you are part of this very special Hyperboard. It wouldn't be the same without you.
likewise! Hope you're having a nice afternoon.
Justin~
I just love to see your hair get longer and longer, it looks great that way, (the style in the pic). Do you have a specific goal in mind, Justin?
I know what you mean about smiling and cameras, I cannot do a proper smile for a camera unless I am distracted and forget I am having a pic taken. Best I can do on cue is a sort of slight smile :)
Hey Chris -
Thanks so much for the compliments. :-) As for my goal, nothing specific. It is just going to continue growing (without any trims) as long as it can. Now, if it were to reach the floor.......then I'ed cut!
Ha ha ha...you too. Isn't being in front of the camera the pits. And yes, the few times the normal smile is ever seen on a photo is when it was captured without my knowledge.
Justin~
This gives me hope. I had long hair, went buzz, and am growing again. It shows me what I am shooting for in the end.
When it comes to long hair, unlike other things in life it is almost like an "ALL WIN" situation. It just never seems to fail. So the "hope" (unless genetics get in the way) WILL be a reality for you. And I am sure you will be well pleased.......extremely so! Good luck in growing out your hair and thank you for the compliment.
Hi Justin hope all is well with you as at least for your hair all certainly IS well. The length is truely awesome as I myself love having hair that long and being able to toss it around like in your pic.I'm trying to hold back on trimming my hair just to let it grow and see actually how long I can get it.My last trim was last August so almost a year now.Anyway keep it up and I do enjoy reading you posts on the board.Have a great Fathers Day! Mark
Hi Mark and thank you for your supportive remarks. Much appreciated. As for your own hair, it is really doing great. If at all possible however, avoid trims. You will find in another year that things will be looking even better. Actually, you may very well find yourself in astonishment at what has happenned! :-)
Justin
Hair looks awsome!
I can relate to you in regards to being in front of a camera - I can't smile on cue either.
Karsten
Hi Karsten!
Thank you ever so much. Ha ha ha, guess I am learning that I am not the only to be unable to smile on cue. Perhaps I should paint one on.......or better yet, wear a mask! LOL
WOW!! That's one heck of a lot of hair growth in just 4 years!!!!!!!
Looks fantastic, as always, --- and I'd bet anything with your hair thickness & all, you'll probably reach belt-length in no time!!!
- Ken
Thanks Ken. Yeah, it is just "starting" to be alot of hair and it is so great to have. I "thought" I would reach the waist by the end of the 4th year but now think it will take until about November. Height has alot to do with this. At 6' tall, getting the hair to the waist isn't as easy as it would be if I were just a few inches shorter.
Actually, my hair isn't really thick hair. I am convinced that using the shampoo "Aussie Volume" and then loads of conditioner afterwards does something to augment the look.
Again, thank you Ken for the compliments.
Justin~
The results are definitely worth it!
Ed
They sure are! And a statement such as this especially coming from you has to be about the biggest compliment ANYONE on this board could ever hope to receive. You sure made my day Ed. Thanks! :-)
Justin~
Hi Justin ,
I was out for some time .Saw your 4 years update .Good going .I think this is the right time you should fix up your goal length .If you want your hair below your wasit or upto your thighs , you should start wearing your hair in bun or braid than wearing them loose .Loose hair tend to shed more .All the best
Ashwin
Congrats! Your hair looks great, and I'm well impressed with your dedication to growing it so long!
Best Wishes
Thanks ever so much Pablo. I wish you great success in growing out your own hair.
Justin
Fantastic, Justin! A real inspiration for the rest of us..
Inspiration? What about yourself? We have so much inspiration on this board it boggles the mind. And all the guys here are just so great. Many thanks for the compliment.
Justin~
Thanks so much John. I take it as an especially super comment coming from one who is such an expert photographer.
Justin~
Looks cool! keep it growin dude!!!
Thanks and yes, I have no intention of cutting.
Absolutely Fantastic Justin! Looks great. I agree with you that the longer it gets the better and easier it becomes. It's nice that you can sit back now and enjoy the rewards of your patience.
Hi Bodhi
YES! You are ever so right. Isn't it great to be able and just sit back and enjoy. :-) Thank you for the compliment.
Justin
Wonderful!
I've been looking forward to this post, I was just thinking the other day its time for an update on Justin. And it was worth the wait, fantastic.
I'm astonished that anyone was looking forward to the 3 posted photos. You really took me by surprise and I thank you so much for your kind words. I WILL post something when I hit the 4 year mark...........but being Camera shy and quite excentric, don't be surprised if I wear a mask for the next one.LOL
Justin~
Why would anyone with hair like yours be shy of the camera? Your hair looks great, well taken care of, and the envy of all (well at least me!). Those little dogs are so cute. I know they are fun. Good luck with everything, and thanks for posting the picture of your splendid, magnificent, and top-notch hair!!!
Bragi
Thanks ever so much for your kindness in making those comments Bragi. I hardly thought of myself (especially at my age) as being the envy of anything. But, seeing long hair when you are trying to attain it and can't wait I guess always produces that feeling. If those 3 photos of long hair help to show others on this board what they themselves will have if they continue I will be very thankful. Glad you like the dogs and yes, are they ever cute and wonderful. Of the camera? It is a lost cause. I was the same about becoming very tense in front of the lense since the day go. (Circa 1895) LOL
wow 4 Years is a very long time wow see it you can make it another 4 years too justin :-)
Axel
Hey Axel -
Yeah, 4 years is a long time and yet, right now looking back it is almost like it didn't take that long. Just wait and you will no doubt find out yourself. Ha ha ha! Another 4 years? Hey, at this point I have one foot in the grave and another on a banana peel! LOL :-)
Justin
Haha Mind you dont slip on the Bannana Peel mate we dont want no nasty Accidents do we :-)
Axel
