I am curious how many of you started growing your hair from a shaved buzzed head. How long are you into your journey?
My head was shaved 4 years ago and my hair is now well-past my shoulders.

i did--had my head almost shaved bald 5 years ago next month.
I got a flat-top late in 2001 or early in '02. Sorry, no pics. Maybe that's for the better. I haven't cut it since, except for a very minor do-it-yourself split-end trim a few months ago.

I started from a crew cut, which is about 1cm of hair... so its close to a buzz... now at 10 months and fringe hair can be pulled down to mouth but still not long enough to get it all into a tail.
As best I recall mine started from a #3 on top and a #2 on the sides, a few days before my Navy retirement ceremony 3 years and 1 week ago.

I started in March 1996 with a #2 buzz cut all around. Have never cut my hair since then. It is now just a little bit to the south of mid-back. Am just letting nature take its course.
when i was shaving my head, i never used a guard so it was nearly bald. i grew it out for six months over a five dollar bet, then i got lazy and decided to grew it longer. it's been almost a year and a half since i last shaved my head. the only way i'll go back to a shaved head again is if i start balding in the back.
