I've been wanting a trim for oh, the last few months now and thought I'd get a little advice here first. For awhile I was actually going to cut it all off mainly because I can't stand it sticking to my face on hot days, but a ponytail solved that problem. So now my excuse is to get rid of split ends from two years of not-so-great care (wet combing, rough detangling, head-n-shoulders, etc etc, everything but dye or gel). Probably 1/3 or more of the hairs are split or kinked an inch or two from the ends, so I definitely need something done.
My concern is over how to get the stylist to not cut it like a girl's haircut. By that I mean I don't want it to look intentionally shaped with a well defined line along the bottom. Should I ask them to cut it in a V shape, or are there other keywords to use? Basically I just want it a few inches shorter all-around without looking unnatural.
Also, how much should I expect to pay for this?
Thanks
Is that you?

Just tell them what you told us about the sort of cut you are looking for. Make sure to get it sorted it out so that you two are on the same page beforehand. It shouldn't be very difficult to do, especially since the cut you want is easy. As for the price, I pay around $20 (Canadian) to get exactly what you get. Your cut should be pretty cheap because it doesn't realy require anything special to it, no styling or what have you.
Thanks. I'm going to try and get it done this weekend.
