Hey guys, first off I just want to say that I came on here a couple months ago and it was recommended that I use Aveda shampoo/conditioner! I'm proud to say that it's working a lot better, I appreciate the help from this board.
Meanwhile, I have a question for you guys. Alright,
Q: So you know when you get out of the shower and it takes a few hours and your hair is just a mess? I mean where it's just tangly almost, just cluttered with thin hairs all over? I'm wondering how I can make my hair smooth and just look clean. I don't like the cluttered feel at all. Any suggestions!?
Thanks
-Ryan
There are some factors that reduces tangles in my hair, all together or not:
* Comb the hair before showering
* Rub it very gently and keep it straight while it's wet
* Avoid towel-drying, or at least put the towel on your head so the water absorbs in it to the point when it doesn't pour on the floor
* Finger-comb and then brush-comb when the hair dries completely.
They work for me very well and we have about the same hair type.
Cool picture btw. Keep it growing! :)
I have been flip-flopping between Aveda and Physique brands for the past two years. I find that I really like Aveda as a brand/image and that the Sap Moss type of S&C have worked very well for my dry hair. Yet the thing that turns me away from Aveda has always been the smell, as it actually does leave my hair smelling like Sap Moss and not something slightly more plesant, such as how other brands have done.
But I really do like Aveda salons. They seem to be very male longhair-friendly (or at least are dished out lessons on equality from corporate) and will always do nearly exactly what they are told with trims. They're honestly the only people around that I let get within ten feet of my hair with scissors.
As for keeping your hair neat when coming out of the shower, well, I'd advise getting some type of gel (not foam) that acts as a smoother/defrizzer, as post-shower (especially if you washed it) is the prime time for hair to be wild.
Hi Ryan,
you really look cool with that hair and that smile! - Concerning your question, I'd avoid shampoo and use conditioner instead. You also can use an anti-frizz gel (clear oily fluid consisting of dimethicone, cyclomethicone, and not much else) before drying your hair, that helps, too.
Grow it forever!
Peace,
