Today I discovered two very interesting articles on the internet.
I will quote an interesting sentence
"our ancestors, the Edwardians and Victorians, had no such modern-day chemicals, yet all the evidence suggests their shiny, glossy and coiffed hairstyles were of huge importance to them."
It's about making the switch from washing hair, to not washing their hair at all, and only rinse it with water.
At least for 6 weeks.
And quess what. This guy continued after these 6 weeks.
Please read his experimental journey on your own.

This is another story of the same kind.

So I was wondering how many people around here use the same method, Only using water to rinse your hair.
Or if you have a experience with it or know someone, Please share your knowledge.
What was your hair like when u just started. And did it change?
I Think Iam going to try the same regime. My main reason for doing it is because my hair gets greasy very fast. Which wasn't when i was i little younger, back when I somehow didn't care that much for hygiene.
If i stop washing, the hair folicles will find it's natural balance back.
I will keep you updated on my situation.
But please let me know what u think
hey , its been like 3 months i only washed my hair , which is very curly , with only water and without ever combing it , it did kind of big dreadlocks , and its almost impossible for me to comb them anymore . oh , any help or advice on what i should do to be able to separate them ????????
Removing dreadlocks is a tedious process, you just have to do it manually and very carefully. Your hair will automatically form dreadlocks if you do not comb it, so do comb it often.
One should note that dirty and smelly hair is NOT a sign of good hair care. I think hair should be washed maybe like at least once a week for those who fear hair damages. I do it everyday cause its so oily and stuff and if I go even 2 days without a wash I feel like crap especially in summer heat.
Well the oilyness should go away after weeks of not washing.
The hair folicles will return to their normal process where it cleans itself, and get their balance back. So you no more get greasy hair. That's the theory, that apparently worked for a lot of people who tried. (not a single one failed).
absolutely, the natural oils return and the hair starts to look and feel good again you just have to put up with it looking horrible for a while
I have really greasy hair too. When I was a teenager it drove me nuts and I'd wash it once a week. Then I realised I had to wash it twice a week, then it became 3 times a week. My sister (who has the same type as me) was worse, she'd wash hers every 2nd day. I realised it wasnt really doing any good and if i didnt stop i'd be like her. So I stopped.
I left it alone for 6 months, didnt use shampoo or anything and, you know what? It was horrible for a while then it came ok. It wasnt fantastic, like just after you wash your hair, but it wasnt the worst it had ever been. I now wash it once a week (and refuse to do it more than that). My sister washes hers in the morning and by 2pm it looks terrible so she re-washes it when she comes home. I wish i'd never used shampoo ever again, I cant really remember why i started.
I think you've just inspired me!!! No more shampoo - experiment - live on the edge!!! lol I saw a woman in the papers once who hadnt used shampoo for over 15 years, her hair was very long and very beautiful. She brushed it and that was it. Inspirational no??
