Well, seeing as this is my first post, I suppose I'll introduce myself first. My name is Chris. I will be a senior in high school in the fall. I started growing my hair long a few years ago but then cut it for various reasons. I have finally decided to keep growing. This picture of me is from prom which was about a month ago. It took me a little over a year to grow that much, but it's been slowing down lately. Anyways, my question pertains to the location of my part. I have been wearing my hair with my part slightly offcentered to the right. As it gets increasing longer my part has moved closer to the center. It's almost dead center now. I was just wondering if anyone that has long hair doesn't have a part that goes right down the center of their head and how they keep their hair out of their eyes and such. My hair isn't quite long enough for a full ponytail yet. It looks sort of odd when I do it now, so when it's windy or whatnot I usually wear a hat. This was just as much of an introduction as it was a question, so I'd just like say that it's pretty sweet that a website like this exists and I'm glad I found it.
Peace
Chris
Welcome Chris! Glad you found us, and thank you for the very kind comment about this board. Much appreciated and I couldn't but agree with you more.
Your hair at present looks fantastic! Good job! As for the not growing analysis, it IS growing, but at your stage because it is getting so long, you are not so aware of it as you were much earlier.
Here is a tip that might just help until you finally pass the last of the awkward stage. Get some pins to hold the hair in back of your ears. I have even seen some (and used them myself early on) that have a hair pattern so they cannot even be detected. You will have to put-up with re-adjusting them throughout the day, but they sure are a great help until you can get all into a Ponytail. Besides, why cover up such great hair with a hat.
As for the Center Part: this seems to happen automatically the longer the hair gets. Has to do with gravity. This "part" is your natural "part" as it was meant to be.
Hang on............the best is yet to come and with hair as great as is yours I doubt you will have not but one single regret.
Again welcome. It is a pleasure to have you here.
Justin
Awesome hair bro! Hair tend to part down the middle automatically as it gets longer, but I prefer mine off to the side too; just takes more pursuading.
Welcome to posting, Chris. You will probably want to add something to your name so people can tell you apart from another Chris and a Chris G. here.
I have always had a side part and early on it was usually in my face so I wore a hat. Justin mentioned bobby pins which can be matched to your hair color so they tend to disappear. Others have had success with gels, hairspray, or mousse. Half tails work too and there is always the behind the ears standby but more workable in places without wind.

Hi Chris,
you look phantastic with that hair - and, as Justin said, the best part is yet to come! Seeing you with the hair and the nice jacket / suit, I'm sure that the girls fall for you :-)
Enjoy, and keep that awesome mane growing!
Wishing you peace, happy growth, and a great Senior year,
Hans-Uwe
My hair is a few inches past my shoulders and still in a side part, not too far to the side but definately a couple inches off center, I just think it looks better. BTW your hair looks really nice
how long u been growing?
Looking handsome there, Chris!
Your part will sort it self out over time.
Welcome aboard,
- Oren
My hair tends to part in the middle, but I think that's as much a product of just brushing it all back off my head and into a ponytail as anything else. I can part it elsewhere when I want to, and it usually does what it's told. :)
Welcome!
