I was recently looking at some pictures from May 7th that a friend of mine had taken. I then looked at myself in the mirror and it appeared to me that I had gained about an inch and a half in only a little over 7 weeks. Could this be possible? If so, it would mean that my hair is growing at a rate of 3/4 of an inch a month. But, could I just be misjudging what I'm seeing? I do get a good bit of curl at the ends on the sides and around the back right now as I'm in an awkward in-between stage. I've read a number of times that on average, hair grows about 1/2 an inch a month and I asked my friend if she thought it sounded out of the norm that mine could be growing faster than that. She said she didn't think so because hers grows about an inch a month. I just thought I would ask you guys too. Am I just seeing things?
Although not the norm, it is definitely possible. I am on a vitamin regimen, and am getting growth of about 3/4" to an inch a month. I measure it once a week in several different places, and chart the progress. I would have thought it just an illusion also had I not measured as I did.

Well, I haven't been taking any vitamins, but when I compared certain areas in the May 7th pictures to now, I actually pulled out a ruler to get a precise measurement of how far it had come since. The two specific areas I looked at were my bangs, which on May 7th were right at my brow line and are now just past my eyes, and the sides, which on May 7th were at the bottom of my ears on May 7th and are now right at an inch and a half below my ears though that particular area is where I get the most curl right now. But, I think I'm not just seeing things. The other thing I have to wonder is if it will continue at that pace. If it does, it means that I could possibly gain another 4 1/2" by New Year's. If that happens, I would reach my target length much sooner than I could have imagined.
