Hi everyone,
Well I've been going great so far but I think I might have a little problem.
I've noticed my hair is in not-the-best condition, specifically on the ends. I don't have split ends or anything, but it seems there are large areas where many hairs are kinked around the last quarter inch or so. That is, the hair is nice and straight from the root down, then it bends nears the end.
Strangely it also seems I'm getting some new hair sprouting in my centre part. A few one inch hairs are sticking out, though I suppose that's not really unusual since they're probably replacing others that fell out.
As some of you know, I have been one to wash it frequently, and now I think I've overdone it.
Can anyone please tell me, is there any truth in the rumour that if you wash your hair less frequently, sebum production slows down, therefore allowing you to go longer without washing? That doesn't mean I don't want to wash it, just that I'm trying not to damage it too much.
I am going to adhere to the two week rule, but I'm a little distressed at my hair's condition right now.
Thanks guys
LukeB
Hi Luke,
to put it simply, I did found that to be very true. When you wash your hair, just rinse your hair out with not-too-warm water and use conditioner instead of shampoo. If you do not sweat a lot, you certainly do not have to wash your hair daily, consider getting a shower cap, and try washing it only once or twice weekly (shampoo once a month or if you have had a lot of ugly dust).
You can also try any of these anti-frizz gels (clear oily fluid consistiong of dimethicone, cyclomethicone, and not much else). Or, you can try to apply minute amounts of a grease-based pommade before brushing your hair.
Hope this helps.
Please make it a FOUR WEEK rule in this case - you don't want to lose your goal because of these temporary difficulties. It's solvable, but it may take some experimentation.
Best wishes, and happy growth,
Hans-Uwe
I currently only shampoo once (Sundays) and condition twice every week (Wednesday and Sunday)and that seems to be working pretty well for me.
I myself have noticed shorter (sometimes thinner) hairs that have popped up in between my centre parting and when I tie my hair back it looks really scruffy 'cause the curlyness (It's a word...I think.) of my hair makes them frizz up. I don't think it's anything bad, I just chalked it down to them replacing old hairs like you did.
I had the same one inch hairs sticking out in my part as well. This was around 13-14 months, although I could be wrong.
However, the date is irrelevant. What is revelant, is that they'll go away in about a month's time. Now, I have them in the front side area (of my bangs) now, and even though they piss me off, they'll be gone soon enough. I still have some short hair's near the front of my head.
It's always cliche answer, but length really does solve all the problems! I've enjoyed watching the annoyances dissapear as the months go by.
