hey evryone!im a little worried im going to go bald at a young age! some one said to me that if you mothers father is bald then so you will be too?is this true! any comments would be appreciated thanx
grant
Absolutely untrue.
The post below explains the rest quite well.
I've always worried about that too. But then again, my dad is nearly 50 and he has a full head of thick hair...yet both of my grandfathers are balding. Who knows, maybe in the future they will find a remedy for male pattern baldness.
My father was bald in his early twenties, I am 40 and have no noticable loss, so fingers crossed.
He was a policeman, and wore a helmet much of the time and before that was in the airforce, so maybe wearing a hat has an influence?
Unless you wear a hat which breaks off hairs and rubs them until they break, then I would guess hat-wearing was not a factor.
It seems that hat wearing is caused by balding, rather that balding caused by hat wearing.
Haha, yes, probably. I just wondered if lack of sunlight and vitamin D, fresh air etc would make a difference.
Oh wait, I heard that it was if your mother's BROTHER i.e. your uncle was bald, then you will be bald too? i think its a load o' cocky pop.
Genetics from hair come in my understanding from your mom's granddad and Dad. At least that's the wive's tale down where I live! Bad genetics no matter were they come from are the key, Ask a Doctor which is true and discuss tretment. My uncle has been on Rogaine for years with great results, There are options. Bst of luck!
