Hey, guys. I've been lurking around here for a number of months, and I really like this community! I've been growing my hair out for a little over a year, and I'm loving it so far.
There is only one thing that's been annoying me about my hair recently. It seems that, on the top of my head, I have a number of hairs that don't want to lay down flat on my head. They sort of stick out above the others. I have relatively straight hair with a little wave, so this is really distracting. I'd like all my hair to sit down on my head and have a smooth look to it, but this phenomenon seems to rough it up a bit. I'm not sure what these hairs are called. I've heard the terms "frizz" and "flyaways" floating around, so it might be one of those two.
I use Aussie's Moist line of shampoo and conditioner every day. I have tried BedHead's "control freak," which is an anti-frizz and straightening gel, but that didn't do much.
So does anyone have any advice for me? Should I try a strong styling gel to get everything to sit down? Should I try only shampooing every three days or something like that? Has anyone had similar things happen to them?
Thanks so much!
I believe it is called "frizz", and some sort of extra product would be needed to control it. I first started noticing this frizz when my hair got to around 6 inches in length; my hair is probably a lot like yours. I apply a little bit of oil on my head after I condition it, which reduces the frizz, but not entirely.
