My wife and I are moving to Buffalo New York.
Does anyone know the attitude about long haired men in New York?
Thanks
Jerome
Being a New Yorker I have to tell you to do what you want or get slapped around.
Hi,
I live 60 miles North of NYC. New York is a libral state in general
and long hair is not a problem. People except long hair. Where I live most guys have short hair. I have noticed that long hair is making a come-back in New York. Ron Kurby the famous NY lawyer has always had long hair. If you want long hair you should grow it, and
not worry what others think! It is your hair after all, and peole should judge you for who you are inside, not for your hair length.
Good Luck!
Darrin
thanks for the encoragement and knowledge, Darrin.

First, lets diffrentiate between NYC and the rest of the state. In NYC, anything goes. Every day I see guys with hair ranging from shaved to butt length. Ponytails are VERY popular.
Upstate (65 mi from NYC) is different, but changing for the better. One kid was voted "best male hair" for his HS yearbook pic. He is one of abt 4 guys with long hair in the whole damn school.
As to Buffalo (abt 400 mi from NYC, much nearer to Toronto)I really don't know. I do know that it is the bowling-est and beer drink-est place in the state, maybe in the nation, at least the bowling part.
My guess is that most male hair up there is pretty boring. Go forth and enlighten the hinterland.
I live in Buffalo and hair length varies between the extremes here. While short buzzcuts seem to be most popular on younger guys, I also see the occasional shaved bald head on men ranging in age from 18-50.
There are also a number of long haired men. In the 2000's, I really don't think people (in general) put a lot of energy into thoughts of hair length on others. It is more important for you to be yourself.
