I have read in some posts about just washing your hair just a couple of days a week but it never sais why
could you please tell me the benefits of doing this? i may start doing it
oh, by the way, does my tipe of hair has something to do?, if it does, mine is curvy
thanks
Washing too much strips the hair of natural oils, leaving it vulnerable and dry. personally I find every 2nd or 3rd day is enough for me but you can experiment. I have found that as my hair starts to get longer thre is less oiliness because there is more hair, when my hair was short I needed to wash more often because what little hair I had would get overloaded with oils! Hope this makes sense?!?

Yup, He's absolutely right.
When u wash your hair a lot, you oil needs to compensate a lot.
So it only makes sense that you wash less often.
In your situation, having curly hair. If its dry, then your hair needs the oil! if its oily then the scalp needs to calm down.
It is said curly hair benefits most when the scalp is let alone, Some guys with curly hair say their hair improves when the oil can do its thing.
I myself have straight fine hair, and it works for me.
since i used to have very greasy hair, After washing it it would be greasy again within 24 hours.
Also had some scalp problems. like flakes, itchyness and it was reddish after i used shampoo.
So i quit using any shampoo all together. Now i use a mixture of egg and 2 teaspoons of apple vinegar once a week to wash.
So it does clean your scalp and hair, but doesn't freaks out your oil production.
Afterwards i use a lemon to get rid of any odor left behind.
It's not getting greasy at all, and my skin problems are gone as well!
here are some helpfull sites you can check.

These people gave me the idea. But you can google yourself to find out the many benefits of not using chemical stuff (shampoo) to wash your hair.
Hope this helps you :)
I always put conditioner on the length of my hair prior to applying shampoo so the shampoo doesn't hurt the length. I only shampoo the scalp. There is enough shampoo that runs down the length during rinsing. After rinsing, I then apply conditioner again. This is known on a lot of long forums as the CWC technique.
It's so the natural oils of your head can nourish your hair. It sounds like your hair would get all greasy or oily, but that depends on how much oil your head produces. Most people shampoo everyday, which is usually unnecessary.
After I learned this I started shampooing only 2 times a week, then it became once a week, now I only do it about once every 2 weeks... lol.
