To all you young blokes out there getting hassle and wondering what girls/women think, we think all ways, as men do. Some of us love long hair, some of us dont.
Don't worry about those who make comments because there will be another out there who will like you just as you are. And perhaps females are shyer about coming forward, especially if the confident ones have already got you looking at them. Just be yourself. And to the bloke with the comments from Starbucks lady, if you're selfish then so is she. And the 'but Im a girl', its sexist apart from anything else.
Anyhoo, I'm off to the pub to look at some long haired male eye candy.....
Welcome to the board do I detect from your comments that you from the UK, the words bloke and pub sorta give it away.

yes i am lol
Thank you for posting that!
I've been fortunate in that most comments from women on my longer hair have been positive, some very much so! I've found that older ladies have been the most supportive. Even my mom has not suggested that I go back to short.
I remember in grade school in the 1970s, one of my teachers who was approaching 60 commented several times that she liked longer hair for men, "as long as it's kept neat."
Recently, one young woman suggested that I have my hair cut "above the ears," but she was not mean about it and I appreciated her honesty.
